Also I absolutely think you'd wanna hold a heavy SMG with both hands :o
That said, Arrowhead should probably put the reprimand into it's own category, like "Heavy SMG" instead of the other SMGs
The trailer was showing two-handed animations anyways.
It would simply be unplayable if it would be a one-handed SMG because of the spread, and if we will talk about "removing" such spread and lower the damage - than why you will need any AR? Because even with 110 damage, it would simply be enough to kill things much, much faster than, well, any other AR or SMG in this game, I'm not even talking about medium pen
i honestly i have other good question, it was said or atleast i think it was, that both newest warbond weapons will have somesort of staggering effect, perfect example PUMMELER SMG from POLAR warbond, new shotgun has this effect with fire modes, but SMG somehow does not all tho some armored units seem to flinch when hit by new SMG, heavy rounds.
In normal maps i don't see the point of picking it over the more versatile Adjudicator, unless you want a short range primary. In which case shotguns tend to perform better.
Its based off of the UMP45. With its high caliber power and not so great recoil. A very cool weapon but not so much in open field combat situations. I wouldn't mind taking it to enclosed Jungle maps and dense forest maps. Would be amazing.
If you can fire an AKSU-74 or UMP45 with one hand without breaking your arm post a video and I'll believe you.
*Rolls eyes* Only if you mean "one-handed" the way Helldivers 2 does, in that you could still use it effectively one-handed if your support hand has something else in it. You'd want to shoot ANY weapon with as much support as possible in any given situation, even something that's compact with a low-recoil round. All the pistols and other SMGs in the game are used with both hands when you don't have the shield or SSD or whatever else, because that's how they should be used. Just because your COD guy uses a MAC11 one handed doesn't mean that's "how it is IRL."
Anyway, that's kinda why the Reprimand is in a weird spot. As it is right now, it would make more sense to call it the Reprimand Carbine and put it in the assault rifle category. It's a close-mid range, high damage, low ROF assault rifle. The defining trait of SMGs is that they are primary weapons that can be used one-handed. I don't see why it being "heavy" should change that. Assault rifles, marksman rifles, shotguns, and pistols all have variants with higher damage, more recoil, and lower ROF, and/or medium armor penetration. Just have the Reprimand be that in the SMG category.
Oh boy. Somebody really doesn't know anything about guns.
So I doubt you've got actual inside info from the devs, but the Reprimand does look like the UMP45 - which doesn't mean anything, and actually hurts your argument. The UMP45 fires - believe it or not - the .45 Automatic Colt Pistol cartridge. Which is - believe it or not - a pistol cartridge. It's relatively large diameter and slow compared to other pistol rounds - capable of good damage on soft tissue, but still a pistol round. Caliber is the measure of the bullet diameter, so while the .45 is "large caliber" that doesn't mean the same thing as when people say it in regards to a .50 BMG, for example. They're referring to high caliber full-power rifle rounds.
The UMP45 is not the "beast of a smg" you're referring to. It's a polymer version of the MP5. The Thompson and M3 Grease Gun were .45 SMGs, and didn't have this terrifying power you're talking about. Funny enough, if you wanted me to pick an SMG to use one-handed, I'd argue the UMP's a really good choice.
You're also kind of missing the point of one handed in the context of the game - all the weapons that are one handed are used with both hands unless you're carrying something else. See my reply above on why it's weird for this.
And there's no shoulder-fired small arm that's going to break your arm by not having your support hand on it when you fire it. Do you even know what you meant when you said that? How do you think that would happen? People obviously shoot .45 handguns one-handed, and the UMP45 would transfer less of that force to the shooter. The AKSU-74 shoots the Russian 5.45, which is similar to 5.56 NATO, an intermediate rifle round. I can shoot an AR-15 one handed. I don't have video, but here's someone dual-wielding M60s, which shoot full power 7.62x51 NATO, on full auto, without breaking his arms (a miracle!)

and hipfire with it is quite difficult. being onehanded would not add much.
