"Convenience" is highly debatable. If you accidentally release the wheel on the wrong emote in the 0.5-Seconds it's open, you can open it again WHILE the other emote is active or push a movement direction to cancel.
Clicking to confirm/toggle is something that should only really exist when hold&release would wear down your limb from long holds E.g Sprinting & crouching, OR thinking & choosing between many options.
You should not have the emote wheel open long enough that a toggle needs to exist, there are 4 options, with no pages to cycle through like Fortnite does. At least FOR NOW.
The Result: mouse input for the "Drop Item" AND Emote wheel, is now locked to the edges & must be treated like a circle with no cancel function.
A change made with good intentions, that 5 people might have asked for, with the added complexity of 1 extra button press.
Also shows their QA doesn't play with M&K
