I've seen hiveguards charge faster then medium-armor sprinting or charger-charge.
- this happens when your back is turned
- it wasn't a lag/glitch/teleport; all the animation played out.
All that 'cautious bug advance' can be dialled up all the way to 11.
No, some bugs have to be able to chase you down, so you can escape some situations, but others you have to deal with.
>"I am speed"
>bug that can outrun you appear
>NERF NOW!!1!1
Though to be fair I might just be bias here, since I also might've been who gave them the idea. If your willing to look through my old discussion, called "I think Helldivers 2 could take from its predecessor in regards to its approach to difficulty", one the random things I proposed in the comment section there was a brood commander buff that sounded suspicious like the Alpha Commander, to give it the ability to endless sprint after its health got below a certain threshold, similar to the brood commanders of the first game, and also to make the warriors an upgraded variant that moves faster to better pressure players. This was of course before Escalation of Freedom.
Then again, it could've also just been coincidence, if so its a funny one.
That's the thing....some enemies just overwhelm you with numbers if you are alone. I bet 99% of players complaining about being killed by Hunters again and again are always running around solo because if they weren't they wouldn't die as often.
Had a great run with pubs yesterday where one guy and me would always provide covering fire until the other one was past him, reload while retreating then turning around again. We did that for a couple games so it wasn't a fluke, just players understanding eachother without communicating.
