Helldivers 2 - Feels dead at level 150
Nothing to do, nothing to achieve, logging into the game just feels like a waste of time. After one game that's me done for the week or 2. It's a shame because this game was incredible and has so much potential to evolve into something better for those at level 150 but at its current state it just feels stale and underwhelming.
I use to look forward to playing every day when I was levelling and playing with my friends who have all stopped playing down to boredom and now I barely play once a week. When you hit max level and have unlocked all the warbond/ weapons, mastered the game, playing on difficulty 10 is no challenge at all and just dull. Will the devs ever introduce some kind of insanely hard end game mode for seasoned vets. Perhaps remove the level cap and create some kind of system where the game gets considerably more challenging the more higher level players you have in a squad and you don't just reach a plateau to stay there dying of boredom for an eternity. This could be in the form of the higher level the Helldivers in a squad, this will scale up the difficulty and introduce special end game modifiers which could be: More enemies, tougher enemies, faster moving enemies, better AI / more cunning enemies with new abilities, faster enemy spawn rates, new missions and introduce some kind of end game reward system for unique armour / weapon / strategem upgrades, unique titles or weapon/ armour skins that encourages the maxed level players to actually feel like they achieving something with the time they put into HD2 and want play again. Or there could be some kind of Helldivers arena PVP kind of like Unreal tournament with complete carnage!
I feel jealous of all the new players still having so much fun! I really wish I had not over played HD2 but that is the fault of the devs for creating such an amazing game, up until you hit max level. A co-op campaign story mode with multiple difficulties would be great. We also need an urban warzone! So much potential. Sry for the negative rant!

Sounds like a you problem of not liking to play a game, much like how people play over and over again matches in cod, cs, apex, lol and etc.
It is about deceiving yourself to feel something. But if deceiving yourself to feel accomplished doesn't work, then you should move on and not complain.

You have 5 achievements left to do.

The difference with those games is you can play against other players and that never gets boring.

I saw someone doing a challenge where you "promote" your helldiver after a successful mission, and they get reset to cadet after death. Might be fun for a little bit.

Uncouple the idea of fun = unlocking and seeing number go up. That's the most typical, classic and common thing that games prey on these days. Nothing but "engagement systems" after engagement systems. Login rewards, dailies, weeklies, CoD's prestige system, all that ♥♥♥♥. Loot grind, resource farming, achievements and challenges.
Most of the time, the games laying under all those systems might be a bit stale or boring, and other times there are good games that stand on their own without relying on those systems. Then there are good games that also have those systems, and players like you can get caught up in the number go up mechanics and feel like without them, there's no further point to playing the game. Here's the cool part though, games are entertainment, products to be consumed and it's entirely up to you to decide when you're bored with it

Hey buddy, sooner or later humans need new horizons. Just remember the good times and move on.

You hate the game because it's not new, valid.

I would have kept playing, just tired of child kings messing with the experience because their panties get tied in knot.

I feel you, once i reached lvl 150 i kinda stopped caring, i am currently playing for medals to max out on the newest warbond, but once i tick that off i think i am going to take a break from this game. And don't get me wrong - in my opinion this game is GOTY for what it is. I absolutely love every aspect of it and i was playing almost every day since launch, didn't care about bugs, didn't care about nerfs or whatnot, the game just speaks to me in different ways so i was invested like hell. Not counting for the dopamine factor, because it's just insane here.
However since i am a grown 42 y.o. man with 35 y. of gaming experience i know how human nature works. And here is the interesting part - i know that i am basically not achieving "anything" by just levelling up, because i already unlocked everything i can long ago, and yet, when i am not "rewarded" for playing, i lose interest. I believe that is a flaw in human nature, we need to feel progress in whatever we do, , without progress there is no interest in pushing forward, even if its just super fun, plus you will eventually get bored either way, even if there was no lvl cap - but at least we would be invested for much longer i guess.

Apart from releasing new content i don't have a good idea for a solution here, raising lvl cap like they did when max lvl was 50 ? I don't know, they would have to make it 999 or unlimited, and it would also screw with matchmaking.

I would like to hear other's people thoughts on this.

Stay safe out there.

We are back to square one with the game; more content. It just needs more of everything sadly. : /
