Sentry guns not focussing Brood Commanders?
Greetings,

I'm using the sentry guns a lot so I've seen it many times.

The sentry guns are usually aiming for the closest targets, which is fine but for some reason they ignore the Brood Commanders. Everytime when I throw a MG or Gatling they ignore the Brood Commanders, no matter how close they are to the turret. They only getting shot, when no other enemy type is left. I'm not sure right now if this is the case for all sentry guns, but MG and Gatling for sure, but why? If you're unlucky, they are getting ignored and destroy the sentry, just because it was shooting something else far away.

Was there any kind of explanation for this behavior or maybe it is a bug? Have you seen the same?

As far as I know once they lock onto a target they shoot at it until it's dead, even if another target moves closer. Brood Commanders have a charge ability and when they see an active turret near them they will use it to rush it before it can acquire the Brood Commander as a new target.

You just have to watch out for them and take them down yourself before they get to your sentry guns.

The charge is definitely not it. It is true that the target will be shot until it is dead but even with this behavior the Commanders are ignored somehow.
I tend to not worry about what they're targetting. As long as it's not a machinegun/gatling on a heavy (which I should remove quickly) it's probably putting work in. They'll eventually kill whatever they're shooting at and will move onto the brood commander. Just take out targets alongside it and you'll stretch the ammo economy on them and keep them safer.

You have to watch out for the sentries. Keep charging things away from them, or put them in high quality spots and they'll put out huge damage. With all the ammo buffs on them, they're super worth it even on 10, and the shorter cooldowns make them more flexible.
