Explosive Weapons do not Seal Bug Holes
First of all, this may be an overlooked bug – but just in case it's not, I shall post this here.

As things currently stand, only a rare few weapons with Explosive damage are capable of destroying bug holes (i.e., the Crossbow and Grenade Pistol). The rest of the explosive weapons do not, not accounting for most stratagem weaponry. I am talking about weapons with the "Explosive" weapon trait, not everything that explodes. This restricts the arsenal of a helldiver and limits creativity. Should a player embark on a terminid mission requiring the sealing of bug holes, they either need a grenade capable of it – a weapon (again, the Crossbow and Grenade Pistol), or a stratagem capable of being consistent and efficient in doing so (some stratagems can't, but can also destroy Automaton fabricators, which is a whole other issue).

This is inconsistent game design. We begin play with the expectation that explosive weaponry capable of blowing things up can, in fact, blow things up. It works for metal fabricators in Automaton missions, so why not on a dirt mound? The game feels like fabricators have a health bar, but bug holes are completely invincible unless you have one of the few means to seal them.

You forgot the Eruptor. Not sure what the issue is. If you don't have primary/secondary/support weapons to clear out bug holes, then use offensive strategems.
Things that can outright destroy fabricators can close bug holes. Except for the Spear. Just aim properly.

Isn't it all the explosive weapons take out bugholes EXCEPT the plasma weapons?

Another reason why in higher difficulties bots are easier. You can ragdoll into a fabricator and destroy it, but bugholes are a target that need far more focus.

I fail to see the problem here, you need specific weapons to close bugholes that is how it's supposed to be.

SG-8P Punisher Plasma, PLAS-1 Scorcher, PLAS-101 Purifier, PLAS-15 Loyalist, G-23 Stun, G-4 Gas, G-3 Smoke.

These weapons are categorized as ‘Explosive’, indicated under the list of Weapon Traits of each. They do not seal bug holes. The issue is the game implies you need explosive weaponry to seal bug holes, and they do not. Not all these weapons are even explosive or deals damage. I want the weapons that can seal bug holes to be categorized as explosive and non-explosive weapons to not have the description of explosive. The issue is poor description.

Ah so what you're complaining is about inaccurate weapon descriptions.
That I can understand, perhaps they should slap that explosive trait only on stuff that can actually close holes/destroy fabs and label the rest as "area of effect" or something.

Explosive tag doesn't mean they should destroy structures
I'd rather them explain tags in the game to prevent confusion

They need to add explanations for a few things, true. A few.

The inconsistency is you.

Bug holes can be blown up with eruptor, crossbow and grenade pistol, but you need to actually hit the bug hole at a certain angle into the hole, not in front, not the back, in the hole.

So what you're saying is that the rim of the hole is not good enough and you actually need to insert the explosive load into the bowels of the hole?

Your issue is semantics. You want all "explosive" categorized weapons to close bug holes. Well, they all have different explosive damage and properties. Is it that hard to equip effective weaponry and strategems and/ or work as a team to take out nests?

Yeah, you cannot deal with holes or fabs with plasma. It's a balance decision and I kinda agree with it. Plasma can be pretty OP already, all things considered.

Remember the early days when people would main the Grenade Launcher, because the only alternative we had to close bugholes was grenades.

Your choices were: Railgun, Grenade Launcher, Autocannon.

If the Orbital Lazer could cauterize bugholes closed, it would be fun again watching 4 players throw doom swords.

Im not sure i see how this is a problem that prevents you from enjoying the game.

Seems like a mental barrier of your own doing honestly.

Alot of people still use grenades to seal bug holes. Because, they are there for that. So you dont need a ''Special Weapon'' for them

If you limit yourself to only the exploding crossbow and a bubble shield 24/7...

It makes your whole point kinda moot to begin with.

If youre so frivolous that you need the Devs to add ''a Bug Hole Meta Gun''

Youre playing the wrong game.
