Engineer Kit
I only use this armour type, I just think there's too much value in having 5 thermites

I miss having 6...

I only use the Medic armor for the same reasons. 6 Stims with a longer active time has saved my life on multiple occasions.

It's my #1 choice for bugs. Bots I could go either way.

It's really the difference between 3 and 5 thermites, not between none or 5, so it's a marginal increase of a flat +2.

There are weapons that benefit from, say, increased handling more than just two more grenades.

It's one of the best combinations of general talents you can get on armor though. Better recoil control and two extra grenades. Most others have one effect that you want and another that you don't care about, or just one highly specialized effect.

if it gave me an extra grenade from supplies when I use it, then I'd bring it a bit more. It's nice, but I'm really liking extra padding.

could always just use another armour type and bring a supply pack for like 8 extra
(just throw like 2 nades then use your own backpack to get 2 extra for every resupply)

its also nades/ammo you can give teammates

i don't see the reason to bring the extra stim/nade armour when the supply pack just gives you both and it just does extra like helping with ammo

its not like it prevents you from using every support weapon either you can bring machine guns or expandable AT and all that

Having extra thermite really is helpful vs bots, especially if you're surrounded by hulks and tanks and your anti-tank support weapons are either reloading too slow or are out of ammo. They also make short work of fabricators, turrets, and mortar emplacements in a pinch.

It's nice, but only really a factor if you die a bunch or play solo. Otherwise restocking all the way from 0 to 5 rarely happens.

Consider this.
Engineer kit + supply backpack + poison gas nade.

Crowd control at it's finest.
Slaanesh Dec 1, 2024 @ 6:17am
I was like that at first too, but either you play with the ammo backpack or die, because each replenish is 2 nades per box. If I see someone took 3 box for his nades while other need supplie and i'm host, he's kicked for sure

Pretty much the same for stim armor. But they sure are in the side of the best perk an amor can have, for sure. Not difficult when you see some other perk, tho, lmao

I like engineering kit. I die a lot. I like to do as much damage to enemy heavies as possible each time I die. Those extra 2 thermites can be the difference between killing that factory strider you landed on or needing a second reinforce to finish it.
thermite is fun and very good on paper but when i bring them the charger/titan/tank/factory strider gets one shotted by a RR before it even sticks
Extra Padding is the absolute GOAT though. On Heavy and Medium it makes such a huge difference. Light, not so much, but still.

I'd also take Fortified because Explosive resist is a close second, and the recoil reduction is practically mandatory for some of the better weapons.

Engineer Kit should be the model perk. When you compare it to the resist armors, it's just no contest. I'd love to see more ammo perks.

I'm sure Unflinching is and will continue to be the most slept on good perk. Maintaining perfect accuracy while being hit (or glanced) is a huge boon for lasers or general point precision when you need it most. I've never had so much fun with the Laser Cannon! The perk just makes bots so much more manageable during gun fights. It's serviceable against bugs too as long as you have the HP booster.

Unflinching is super nice, we just really want a heavy armor option, being alive and flinched is better than being dead and not flinched afterall.
