Why are there hellpod “shadows”?

I’ve noticed that when you dive into a planet, the hellpods have weird shadows that cut through the planet. Like you can see stars through hellpod silhouettes, what’s up with that?

I've noticed this myself, but whenever I bring it up to the squadmates I regularly have, they don't see it. They had no idea what I was talking about until I shared a screenshot of it. Either it's a bug, or it's a secret hint by Arrowhead to go with the 5 other hints that the illuminate exist.

I think it's a texture that's supposed to be roughly in the same place as the the pod, but for some reason it's occasionally offset since a recent update.

Probably because of the same reason the DSS is obscured by atmospheric fog IN SPACE. If that thing was large enough to be in the atmosphere it would drag it's lower half across the planet.

They probably got some render priorities wrong and have layers on top that shouldn't be.

Yeah same thing. Seems to happen more often with team mates. Crazy how even unrelated changes to stuff can mess stuff up.

Unless it's because of the DSS? That's all I can think of that might be the cause.

Its due to the pod skins. THey added another layer and its conflicting with the shadow layer causing some bleed through. Likely just moving a layer up and down would fix it.
