semi-rarely i run out of nade-pistol ammo before anything else, even when trying to use it with priority (spamming into hiveguards, spitters or when on the move).
also it´s a slow but decent enough backup when i´ve emptied the nadelauncher but are unwilling to use a pack of my supplybackpack (which also invalidates the fire-breaker ammo nerf).
running around charges to start cooking their buts seems very much like a waste of time... i also run eats + commando, so 95% of the time there´s enough anti tank resources.
also going into melee when it´s not absolutely necessary is dumb.
It would be helpful, at least for the smaller chaff but letting stuff like the warrior and commander still continue forward as they do that in death anyways
Hunters and stalkers are really the main things that kill me. I just want more weapons that can more reliable control their movements.
Personally I like how I can lightly jog away while turning the terrain behind me into fire against bugs and using it behind a ballistics shield against a mass of trooper bots is incredibly satisfying (also lets me kill scout striders from the front, not sure about those new ones).

Against their butt I'm sure, which is totally fine and how all other weapons work
For stalkers you need a weapon that can stagger them or kill them fast. A lot of times you can tell when one is in the area is when the combat music starts playing while you're just exploring. Unfortunately they doesn't work as well with this patch as the music picks up for even the impaler being in like a 500m radius of you even if it's not aggro, but I digress
The cookout bullies and kills the stalker really easily, as does the Plasma Pun, Dominator or any other weapon with stagger or fast TTK like the HMG
What tends to get you killed is having or using a weapon with zero stagger like the sickle or the breaker incen
If you shoot them in the weakspot, otherwise no.
