There is no counter point to this argument and I think actually being spit in the face is less of a spit in the face than the damned Req slips
Even if AH replaced them with like +500, it still would not be worth it in the short and defiantly not in the long run, it would have to be a few thousand to make them useful to anyone, new or vet.
Consider that sometimes you get nothing and there is a message from an NPC saying something like "Sorry, this one is empty" Some people still get some pleasure from the lore, or the idea that there are other people besides the player characters on the battlefield.
You should be able to trade them for medals at the very least.
I think you might be thinking of the wrong game here, it's definitely not a free-to-play game.
