completely agree with you
Thank you guys; Heckle, Blorem, Thorkdin, YOTAman559, and anyone else. It's nice knowing I'm not the only one saying this, and that you you guys agree, more or less with what I'm saying. I half expected to get flamed out for this post.
Maybe when the player count drops off another cliff they'll start listening to us. For now, it doesn't seem like we're getting through to them. All our criticism seems to disappear into the background rage, and I hate to just jump on the complaint wagon, but it's just that this game hits different. I absolutely loved this game in the beginning. The criticism here is coming from a place of love and disappointment for something that I care about. If I didn't give a s**t about the game, I wouldn't make this post.
This game could be F***king awesome like it used to be, but for whatever reason the devs seem hellbent on driving it into the ground. At this point it almost feels like spite. Which is hard to believe, but I can't help feeling that way.
Thanks for the support.
We finished it, but it was just not a fun experience.
Start listening to us..... Listen to yourself...... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell
I've also been playing since launch with about 450 hours, and I don't see how the game is more difficult now. Solo, yes. It's brutal solo. But with a squad it's more or less the same.
There are those that embrace fate and push the nuke button. Then there are those that complain on steam forums.
Homie lost incendiary breaker and got skill checked right out of 8. crazy how that works.
You too?! Bro EAT vs chargers has literally not changed since last patch. 1 hit to head = dead every time. Behemoth still has the dumb interaction where if you walk forward while shooting leg, you can just pistol it dead if u want.
airstrike (for crowds) orbital precision strike (against BT's, Chargers) MG (crowd control) shield generator pack (anti-bile titan spew)
with the liberator carbine and bushwacker secondary shotgun (from viper commandos).
liberator carbine is extremely good close ranged and packs almost as good of a punch as the MG. mowing enemies down feels great. difficulty 9 isnt hard with a good loadout you like. even after the fire change I still bring flamethrowers and it holds really good crowd control. pair that with the napalm airstrike and everything dies (besides heavy armor ofc but I usually bring EAT & commando's for anti-tank enemies ontop of flamethrower and shield.
for the bushwacker I bring it for mainly stagger for keeping enemies away and most of the time I can keep enemies at a distance juggling my own tactics
while my friends offer a loadout that supports pushing them back and 2 others focus on heavy damage and 1 for complete anti-tank loadout (specifically for bile's, impalers, chargers. (bringing EAT's and Commando's make this an extremely easy task)
the game is still very much possible and is not THAT broken. flames were great for chargers but now you gotta do it helldivers 1 style. aim and shoot for the butt. or aim for their backleg with a medium armor penetrating weapon and they will die in 3 seconds (assuming I'm remembering that right. that info could be wrong)
people say not to compare hd1 to hd2 but its actually very comparable as they share the same mechanics (excluding top down isometric)
when you are a veteran of helldivers 1 you know exactly what to bring. in my eyes the devs are doing exactly what they are doing in 1 where you rely on stratagems but with heavy teamwork and coordinated loadouts you can bring basically anything that helps the most for a mission and bring efficiency when coordinated well.
with an uncoordinated team and random loadouts it causes a lot of chaos and not enough crowd control causing impossible scenarios. pure strategy.
as much as I like fire as well I do agree it should have some stagger to keep them back and not really my preferred loadout. better before the nerf imo but not complaining. theres so many other ways to destroy the 'hard guys' its not even funny lol
as for automatons:
coordinate taking down drop ships I usually have a full team running commando's and we shoot all the ships down. the ones that drop down we easily take care of with airstrikes and stagger with airburst stratagems to keep them in place. when faced with hulks we usually bring stun grenades and pop them in the back and for the new strider thats fully armored just shoot one of their rockets and they die instantly. if you want an easier time KNOW YOUR ENEMY.
I cannot stress this enough about knowing your enemy. theres a huge difference of tactics when you find out a specific piece is light, medium or heavy armor then you can find one of their BIGGEST weaknesses and take them out extremely fast.
my usual automaton loadout is:
medium armor (50% chance not to die taking lethal damage). this armor passive is a really good lifeline.
airstrike, orbital precision, AMR (anti-material rifle) and shield generator backpack. pretty similar to my terminid loadout but I bring the AMR because accurate shooting can one shot any enemy and 2 shot hulks from the front. my squad brings all AMR's and 2 bring crowd controls and 1 goes yet again FULL anti-tank and AGAIN with coordination things can go extremely well. dont forget. a gunship can get taken down in 3 shots from an AMR and if you can distract the gunships I highly recommend taking a rocket sentry. it can take those guys out in 3 hits as well while you deal with crowd control.
mines are a HUGE game changer for automatons as well. if theres a horde coming sometimes 2 people bring mines. with the blessing of AT mines we switch it up with regular and AT mines just incase we are too busy dealing with other things than hulks and tanks. but orbital precision strike can one shot any of them. just be precise for those and everything will end up pretty smooth.
I'm not saying that I'm perfect at this game. there are times where it gets extremely difficult. sometimes I dont call out a single thing and we are swarmed. or we are out of ammo and 50 bot drops come in. but thats when you just know when to run and circle around. if you go far enough you can make them all despawn.
you can also bait bot drops as well, run and do other things because bot drop call ins have a 3 minute cooldown so you can use this advantage to avoid bot drops when dealing with heavily armed stratagem blockers or orbital cannons you name it.
KNOW your enemies, KNOW your weapons and most importantly.. KNOW YOUR TEAM.
P.S: Incendiary Breaker is still really good. Try out the Slugger cookout. great for stagger and shriekers
