Autocannon should get big nerf
It just too good vs automaton it work against literally everything automaton throw at me, that doesn't seem balance aint it?

They have a very good ammo economy they can deal with strongest enemy with ease from a LONG RANGE even with the backpack requirement the good outweight the downside like by a looooooooong shot.

If flamethrower only redeeming quality is to kill charger get nerf, Autocannon that good against everything should too it doesn't seem fair.

AC only good against automaton?, yeah so did flamethrower against charger.

I'm just feel too powerful when holding AC and kinda have some fun with it but i know we can't have that so i suggest nerf AC too and big one at that, double the reload time or add big recoil that one shot the gun will flew out of helldiver hand and have to pick it up.

well, it's not so much the autocanon, as anything with AP4. You'll notice similar results with the AMR and the HMG. Autocanon is very good, but it's also balanced out with things like having to use a backpack for ammo, having a minimum safe distance, and having to be stationary while reloading.

Honestly, IMO it's one of the overall best balanced weapons, and they should be using it as the baseline for their other weapons.

to be fair, most of the community are wrong about the nerfs. That said, this is definitely bait.

Yes time to nerf the heck out of the auto cannon. A weapon that has been reliable for far too long. Double recoil and half the ammo please Arrowhead. And make it so the explosions at close range suck you into a vortex like the Erupter explosions used to. Those pesky Auto cannon folks need to feel what it's like to have their trusty reliable weapon ruined like everything else. Six months later, when the player count has halved again , revert it back in some new super improved balancing patch.

Might be a bait but it also true it have very good ammo economy and too versatile vs everything.

If flamethrower get gutted because it happen to kill charger faster from close range than yeah autocannon should get gut too.

Autocannon deserves some variety. If they fleshed out it's ammunition it would become a pretty meta secondary.



Didn't it get a small nerf months ago? Longer reload time.

At that point, it might be better to ask AH to nerf every single weapon until we can't even kill a single enemy. This way, when they'll test it at difficulty 3-4, they MIGHT see that there's a problem with nerfing everything.
Note: I was going to write "they'll see that there's a problem"...etc... but I decided to change WILL with MIGHT...

Op is absolutely correct to ask for nerfs and is saying the same thing I have said since the beginning. They killed all the other guns, guns that were much MUCH worse than the autocannon were turned 200% worthless.

Arrowhead says the autocannon is the model they use for perfect balance. Ok, so why then is it a problem when other weapons have the same level of usability/fun? Literally the only reason the autocannon was not nerfed is because it was the former CEO's favorite gun.

Now that he is not CEO, and the latest update has made it clear that we will only receive nerfs I say: Stay consistent, if you nerfed all of these other things for a REAL reason, not just looking at numbers and making the most popular thing worse, then you have to nerf EVERYTHING else similar or better to it for that same reason.

I can't tell you how many times I have heard "That gun is/was OP, you can't have a gun do literally everything $TUP1D!!" and every time I would just say: "autocannon does literally everything but you won't ask to nerf that gun?" and of course nobody ever responds or if they do, it is just trolling. I mean, it HAS to be trolling right? I guess it could be mental illness as well, extreme mental gymnastics somehow convincing these people the autocannon is not guilty of literally ALL the "sins" the rest of the arsenal was gutted for.

TLDR: Thanks OP, I thought I was the only honest/sane person left. If they nerfed MUCH MUCH WORSE, GOD AWFUL, LESS POPULAR weapons than the autocannon, why leave the autocannon in its OP state? The autocannon according to ArrowHead is both perfectly balanced and how all guns should be (Pilstedt), but also insanely broken if we use the same criteria (THIS GUN DO EVERYTHING!!11) they claimed to use when nerfing all the other guns. (Alexus) It CANNOT be both, so I say we do as OP says and be consistent with the nerf hammer for "OP" weapons.

The autocannon is a dedicated Anti-Medium-Armor Weapon
*requires precise aim to down bigger enemies
*requires a backpack to reload it(no shield backpack, no guard dogs, no ammo)
*player needs to stop to reload it

Being compared to flamethrower which is meant to be used mainly against small fry
*no need for accurate aiming and capable of taking down big stuff
*no backpack required to reload it
*can be reloaded while on the move

Why even trying to compare cats and dogs?

Don't forget the part where the terrain explosion effects/fire/dust/gore are downgraded/bugged/removed entirely and NOT added back in with the "improved balancing" patch. I love it, another wholesome episode of: "We outsourced this game before release and our current local team has no idea how to make games."

Forget comparing any two specific weapons at all. The point is that OP is correct. According to AH defenders in this forum and ArrowHead themselves: "one gun should not be able to do everything." and that is literally what the autocannon does. EVERYTHING. So by using the logic of the developers and tryhard masochists in this forum, they must admit the autocannon is "overperforming".

Seems more like Sony and arrowheads type of fetish :andm: Nobody would make a thread like this or agree unless there was a clear precedent (dev balance AMAs/streams) for doing exactly what he proposes for the exact same type of weapon. (a good one)
