Why was sluger nerfed again ?
i dont even use the gun and it got nerfed again when it was ok weapon previously
no stager isnt a buff
if you think making your target move iregularly so you cant hit the next crit is a buff you are stupid and you would fit right in the balance team

It was nerfed because enough trolls cried about how "OP" it was, combined with at the time the bigger YT creators pointing out it was one of the few good anti armor choices at that time.

Funnily enough, certain other weapons were buffed to where even in its pre-nerf state it would be inadequate.

It was nerfed for a few reasons really:
1. Devs are incompetent, nerfed things due to player perception wanting to go after "good" choices
2. Too many low IQ players + trolls cry
3. Devs most likely want to push people into the paid warbonds for good weapons, with no respect for actual balance

PS this is in reference to its original severe set of nerfs, not to changes of now. Either way, its still not worth bothering with after the initial nerf

It wasn't nerfed. They reverted its stagger to normal, and made it more inaccurate at longer ranges to stop people from sniping with a shotgun.

It was OP

The Slugger was not nerfed, it was a huge buff that actually makes it viable again. Staggering Berserkers and Devastators is amazing. The accuracy reduction is hardly noticeable at all.

you know . slug shotgun are pretty acurate and long range irl right ? i was pretty happy that some game creators finali got that fact corectly and now they just had to ♥♥♥♥ it up

Alexus thought that reducing stagger would "balance out" the Slugger somehow being used as "a better sniper rifle" than the DMRs instead of reducing overall range.

and ? so what if it was OP . this is pve game . OP = fun
the gun was good vs mid sized enemies , thats it . it was weak vs swarms and big targets which means it doesnt push out other weapons that excel at that job . the game is set in futuristic seting so why are the weapons weaker than what we have today ? make it make sense .

its a precision weapon . the acuracy reduction is huge nerf . if you are not using it to hit weakspots you might as well use pelet shotgun

Since it competes with DMRs, I found its prior nerf fine. A precision weapon mainly for closer-medium ranges that has excellent aiming ergonomics for close range to compete in a different way against DMRs.

Now that it has its stagger again, it has more sway. While having the stagger makes sense for a pump-action shotty, now it arguably re-intrudes on DMRs or even the JAR Dominator again.

Maybe limit the range then?

Either way the community is heading a certain direction when even something arguably a reversion is being met like this.

and you still can very easily at MID-SHORT range. you just aren't going to hit them at long range with the slugger accurately anymore.

What was the nerf to slugger exactly?

Stagger on slugger is a massive buff since, though I haven't tested it yet, it can stagger devestators again.

I have yet to see people take this over the DMR options in automaton land.

Diligence counter and Dominator completely outclass the slugger vs automatons. Against terminids, shotguns are favored all around for stagger/multi-target.

If you only play against 1 side and not the other, you'd think that a gun suddenly is able to overshadow DMRs.

The slugger doesn't have a long range targeting reticle and therefore suffers for it in terms of accuracy at range.

DMRs are designated marksman rifles - they are meant to be highly accurate long ranged weapons. The slugger has never encroached on their territory.

As for competing against the dominator - dominator was absolute trash garbage initially til the buff to 300 damage per shot. Trying to nerf the slugger to make the dominator more appealing doesn't work when the dominator was trash to begin with. Instead of 1 trash weapon, they made it so you had 2 trash weapons.

They have sinced buffed the dominator, then nerfed it again. IMO, it still can't compare to plasma rifle due to the god awful handling. 300 damage was just usesable.

all they had to do was give iron sights to the slugger for it to not be a good long range weapon while still being somewhat realistic. its so weird now to see it flying off target while aiming down sights.

Originally had stagger more or less the same as the Punisher, but Bringer of Balance reduced it to assault rifle level because he believed it was being used in place of the Diligence INSTEAD of reducing the Slugger's range. Don't know if it's even near the previous stagger power right now.
