TF2 is obviously not a comparable game but the way the developers tried to balance it for casual and competitive is something a lot of devs can take notes off, they spend a lot of time trying to understand what makes an item unbalanced and how they can fix it without it just ending up on a ban list. That doesnt always work but theyre at least very careful and deliberate about making changes
