Automatons vs Terminids
I wonder how this battle would look like and who would win.
9 difficulty vs 9 difficulty armies.
Titans vs tanks and walkers, hulks vs those rammers.
Imagine the slaughter and panoramic action.
I'd definetely spectate that.

It depends what the bugs will bring to the table.

Stalkers can mess up a lot.
Bile Spewers can arty a boatload in large numbers.
Behemoths will pretty much be immune to any damage from the front if its not a tank or the main gun on a factory strider.
Bile Titan will be the same as Behemoths and might even be able to tank many tank shots aswell.

Nurse spewers can hide a lot of the small fry.
Hive Guards and Brood Commanders wont get killed by a lot since I think only the Flame Hulk, Berserkers, tanks and main gun factory striders actually do medium pen damage. Maybe Rocket devs and the rocketeer dude as well, but Brood commanders can take a lot of pain.

It'll also depend on the map type. Is it a map with lots of open plains or is it a map with more canyons and such.
Next to that, the AI of automatons is just to move in from A to B in a straight line. Bug AI is all about flanking the living ♥♥♥♥ out of you, you can see how they strafe trying to block your path if you just wanna run past them.

you forgot Chainsaw Men have ridiculously high health pools and deal high melee damage, being able to singlehandedly instantly tear down a Walker. And the fact that Hulks have flamethrowers which murder Chargers.

Yeah Berserkers have high healthpool, but so do a lot of terminids. Not to mention hunters going for headshots and all with their leaps.

Also Flame Hulks don't automatically beat chargers. We can snipe chargers cuz we aim for the legs which can kill 'm in a few seconds. Automatons are wired to headshot and the flame hulk flames in an arc, covering a wider area, so it'll take out chaff sure, but it won't be able to kill a charger with a single flame.

I think most bot units would be in deep trouble once the bugs close in. I doubt many bots would be able to take down a Charger consistently, and all varieties of Chargers would plow through everything below a Hulk. For players, the bugs are easier, since we don't stand in one place shooting wildly, but the bots don't maneuver to avoid being swarmed, and don't shoot fast and accurately enough to kill all of the bugs at range.

The units I would think really turn the tide in favor of bots would be the Gunships, which could possibly be untouchable by anything the bugs have, and might eventually kill off any size bug army (assuming their missiles can damage Titans), the Gun Towers, which might never be destroyed by any bug unit, depending on their placement, and Factory Striders, which would mow down masses of the smaller trash, while their weak points might not be easily hit by the bugs.

I don't know how the units yet to be released, the Impaler on the bug side, the Spore Charger, the rocket armed Scout Striders, and the Rocket Tank might effect the result. If the bots had their accuracy and awareness reduced by the Spore Charger, that could have a large impact, and they might have great difficulty dealing with the Impaler, since it seems to be under ground quite a bit.

Impaler is not underground , it just very far away camping where tentacles are attacking ( and being hard to kill as a charger )
It how works in HD 1

Would love to see a planet be attacked by both bots and bugs as we try to defend it.

Could be a nightmare during a mission but would still be cool to see the two factions fight each other.

Based on in-game numbers, i'm pretty sure the automatons would just get swamped. Their actual projectile damage is very low while the terminids have very lethal slashes, for very obvious balancing reasons

Do the bugs even reach them before being blasted with rockets? Or mowed down with machine lazers?
