I concur. There's already several miniguns in the game, just give us a man-portable version.
For comparison, the one used on the sentry has a fire rate of 1560 RPM, with 90 damage per shot and 23 durable damage (which is a quite nice ratio) at AP 3

This is actually identical to the shots fired by the normal MG, though that one is only capable of 900 RPM. I would assume that the higher fire rate, and therefor substantially higher ammunition use, would be offset by the ammo backpack.
It would essentially serve the same role as the MG, but with a much higher rate of fire, allowing you to clear out hordes of smaller enemies swiftly, and potentially even taking out chargers by taking out its butt or innards after you crack its shell.
It would still not be able to damage heavier bot units like the hulk though, you would require an HMG for that.
I just want an energy backpack period. Makes all your cooldown weapons cooldown a bit faster.
Or an Arc backpack that soaks up some energy from your arc weapons and discharges it when enemies get close.
Hm, kinda like a portable Tesla Sentry? That'll be fun with teammates :p Good incentive for people to use that 95% arc damage reduction armor though.
