So what do you do for the other 38 minutes?
Any major order involving bots makes me groan, and genuinely dissuades me from wanting to play at all. I think of how I could have fun playing something else instead, but how I need those samples to make some advances in unlocking the rest of the overpriced upgrades, or preparing medals for when the next warbond will show up, the one I will also need to keep 1000 super credits in stock for, all while contributing just in case we actually get a good reward for once.
I feel like when a game fails to make the process of chasing the next unlock a fun trip, and instead turn it into something akin to work, grind or hussle, it fails at its mission as a game. While Deep Rock Galastic does demands a lot of resources to unlock well, everything, at least every dive feels novel, interesting and fun. Sure you have the occasionnal painful one with terrible layouts and conditions, but they are the exception rather than the norm. With Helldivers 2, we already know how any bot mission is going to go.
Something I have never really seen someone mention is that almost every bot has the potential to burst you to death at the right range, even from medium range and occasionally long range. Bots are an enemy that requires you to be spaced from them at all times, as the closer you get the more dangerous they get, even more so than the faction that relies primarily on melee. It's ironic IMO.
they need to throw more walls of little guys at you. The game seems to really struggle with actually making use of the full roaster of enemies you can fight.
