The game does have issues actually closing the game but a simple task manager force close is all thats required.
Again, blue sccreens of death aren't game related, they are hardware and OS related.
Indeed, its a hardware or OS issue... the fact that this happens ONLY with HD2 is not really important.
Here is an example; If HD2 uses different parts of your system RAM than other games or programs, and those used parts of ram is showing signs of defect, then yes, it is easy to blame the game, but the problem still lies with your physical RAM.
Ram is the cheapest and easiest solution, but not always THE solution.
What is your PC specs?
Almost never a crash in the heat of the battle or when its a flood of bugs ( only 2 times too )
I think its a GPU drivers problem ( truly i changed mi hd to ssd 2 years ago and only this game gave me 2 blue screens ) , because when i started playing was good , nvidia drivers update came and starts the crap , other update and was less common , and now with the latest nvidia update is smooth again and never a freeze game after quit ( and yeah , i do total uninstall old driver in the new instalation )
My guess is Windows Defender and GameGuard have an issue.
You can try adding the GameGuard folder in the Windows defender exclude folder list.
Concerning the OP's hardware, it sounds like it is working borderline and HD2 just tips it over.
You may need to check wether your CPU, memory or GPU is overclocked, however slight, and reduce that.
