Nah drop the update that fixes enough game breaking bugs you can actually play through a match and get your rewards for doing it.

what fking "game breaking bugs" the only one i encountered in last 50 matches is infinite loading screen. This game is boring and it needs more content thats why it dies. Noone gonna play same boring ass pve for that long, there is nothing to grind, nothing to achieve, no Boss Fights, nothing, just a dumb horde shooter, and its fine but having same 9 difficulty's and 2 new enemies since launch is crazy. Same generic orders, all scripted btw, fighting for the same planets against same enemies over and over.

they should give their game to a competent company

The Illuminate update isn't something to be casually dropped whenever. It is a major moment that will attract the most number of eyes as possible. They can't drop the ball on that one.

They need ample testing, all staff on board, significant story progression lined up for months on end. It has to be an expansion level event - not something they toss out because someone is bored and doesn't understand how to play or do something else until the content drop.

I think February is the right time.

I don't think Illuminate alone can keep people for months. Illuminate + vehicles + warbond + NEW planets and leveling reward system, all in one, could keep people for a while.

It's all about the gameplay loop. So far you've got 100-200hrs of kill stuff-collect stuff-upgrade stuff-kill harder stuff- repeat. That all comes to an end once you're fully upgraded (or dislike the grind for increasingly less meaningful upgrades). The Galactic War is a farce of zero consequence. Unless they change the loop they're gonna be forced to constantly increase the reward ceiling with exponential grinds for almost nothing.

I for one came back to play a match after a few weeks off, great teammates doing all objective, got tons of samples, working together for 40 minutes then one by one guys started disconnecting then my game froze and crashed. I wasn't the host nor I think it matters. We had 1:54 minutes for extraction..............................---------------------.
Put the game off for another few weeks...or who knows.

Limited time for video games makes me choose the ones that won't flush my time into the drain with the feeling of frustration.
So yeah this game needs content for the loyal fan that stuck around for this long.
Meanwhile game breaking bugs should be ironed at the same pace, otherwise what's the point of new content when you can't enjoy it?

Should be two tactical development teams, one fixing absolutely crucial bugs and another slowly trickling content in the form strategems, monsters, skins, attachments etc the possibilities are endless. Do so between the "big content" patches.

For now I'm weary of even trying to start a match just for it to crash in front of the LZ o7

Sony is not gonna give up their game and arrowhead has no ability to pass it on without sonys permission since Sony owns the IP entirely

This ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ make me rememeber the first months of New World!
New World lost 880.000 players in 5 months (September 21 to February 22)

I do not believe Helldivers will ever recover like No Mans Sky did.

That's going to require the whole team on standby for balancing and bug fixing.. Best to let them release it when they're back in the office, and have had done time to review the current content that needs attention, imho.

aint nobody coming back. they've really fked the game

At this point I think they should do literally nothing since the game has barely improved since it's inception. It feels like for every good thing they do, they screw up something else. Just give up and try again with helldivers 3. This game is a lost cause.

they cant even drop the apc stratagem that was datamined 5 months ago and the anti-tank mines because theyre afraid it'll cause more issues. there no way the illuminate faction is anywhere close to being ready

I think removing game from 180 countries had more to do with people being gone than some crappy update.
They did not removed it in my country. I just do not play on principle due to what they did together with Sony.
I decided to install it, grab free medals and delete it again.

AH need to make the Illuminate update big, impressive and actually functional to get the hype back. Give them time to cook. Not like the game can die any further.
