4060ti terrible performance help
I got a 4060ti and a ryzen 9 5900x on 1080p High settings in getting 40-50fps on planets and 60fps max on ship. I don't have vsynch turned on, my monitor is a 165hz. It doesn't matter if I turn on upscaling ultra performance, game just looks blurry but fps is the same. Same if I change the settings from ultra to low or medium, all the same fps. Any clues? I see peeps with 3060 getting 100fps like on 1440p like how???

And any tips on how to do that? Or any pointers in the right direction or videos?

There is a plethora of NVIDIA panel settings too. Might need to increase shader cache size there, ( try default mode and go from there if no dice ). Try one setting at a time to see if there is a 'culprit'. Game bar disabled? Guess what, it prolly still turning itself on ( just not connecting to gamebar services ). There is a million things or background apps, etc, to go wrong so hard to gauge from our chairs. You tried lowering to 120 hz? Good luck!

Strange, I get better results out of my 4060 (not ti) with a 5600x and 32gb @3200mhz
I never changed a graphics setting, i allowed it to just default itself, it set itself to render scale 3 of 5 (ultra)
I run at 1080p, with in game vsync on and in game frame limiter off
I cap my fps at 60 using nvidia control panel and I never see the fps dip below 60
Uncapped it will hit 90 fps on ship
I use a kraken 360 aio and the cpu temp never breaches 65
Gpu temp never breaches 72
Windows 10
Wish I knew what to suggest
Do you have your bios xmp profile set for your ram?

Oh darn I totally forgot to explore tue nvidia panel. This might just do it. I will see with your recommendation and get back to you after work. Really appreciate it.

Hmm I'm not sure about the ram. I have a single 16gb ram stick from my old pc. That's the only thing I didn't upgrade.

Using 1 stick instead of 2 means you're only running single channel, rather than dual channel, so it is considerably slower than it could be. you'd be better off with 2 sticks of 8gb than 1 stick of 16
The xmp profile will make your ram operate at its full advertised speed, so always worth setting up.
Though these things will certainly have a positive impact on your system, i honestly don't know if they would offer the drastic boost that you seem to need, so I'd rather not recommend you spending money, though ram is nice and cheap.
Also, I will mention that I regularly see ram useage well over 16gb in game

You personally see over 16gb used in game? So I'm guessing you're running at least 32gb ram? I should probably upgrade the ram too. It was many many years ago I bought it hahah. 16x2 would be best off or 8x4?

If you already have a 16gb stick just check the timings and rated clock speed and buy one that has exactly same specs preferrably from the same manufacturer or just buy a kit of 2x16gb as DDR4 is pretty cheap. Running single channel really hurts performance.

Also make sure your processor has sufficient cooling, this game hits the CPU really hard and while 5900x is not that power hungry it can still get hot if it doesn't have a decent cooler or if the cooler is mounted poorly.

From what i've read so far I don't think it's your GPU that is at fault here.

Don't feel bad, im on a ryzen 3700x and a rtx 4070ti super with 32gb of 3200mhz ddr4 ram and i get about 45fps at certain times when alot is happening on screen. I play at 1440p. I think some of it comes down to the sheer number of AI bugs on screen as that would heavily tax the cpu. My gpu never really hits full utilization either. Also might be a bit of a bottleneck using a 3700x too. Im planning on upgrading it to a 5800x3d in the near future.

Just get lossless scaling, it actually helps.
