las-5 scythe not so bad after a buff
Didnt see anyone else really talking about this so I thought I'd say it. After a minor damage buff the las-5 scythe isnt quite as bad as it used to be.

I've been using it for a few days now and I find it actually performs pretty well against the bots, though not as well as many other guns.

Because it has no recoil its actually pretty good at sniping heads off devastators, though with its awful scope you cant do it consistently from longer ranges. It also takes a second to kill the little bots, but no longer so long as to make it unbearable. Missing also isnt a big deal because unlike single shot guns you can just adjust a bit as you fire which is really nice when sniping the shield devastators.

Against the bugs however it still stinks. Like I have used it, and technically I was able to manage difficulty 7 and 8 with it, but I needed other folks to keep the hoard manageable most of the time. I couldnt hold my own with just the las-5 (though the laser guarddog helps a lot, alternatively a shield helps too). You just cant kill hunters fast enough before you get swarmed, if you want to use it with bugs have a good secondary or a team who can help when your overwhelmed.

In the end I found the testing experience to be fun, and only occasionally frustrating (mainly on bug missions). I'd go as far as to say that the scythe (and in general a full beam build) is now viable (even if far from great). I think the only change I'd make if I could would be a better scope so you could actually deal with heavier bots from distance.

I used the Scythe against bots before the buff, and honestly the buff was welcomed. It's pretty fun if you can keep it on heads with it's really fast TTK, but... yeah. I think it could still use a few tweaks since it's miserable against bugs.

I'd welcome *any* kind of scope with magnification on that thing, because good lord it would be strong if you could reliably hit at a distance!

Definitely needs a scope. Same with the railgun. Precision weapons without scopes is a silly design choice.

It's doubly baffling that they gave the sickle the scope.

The TTK on it is still a lot lower compared to the Sickle even if you include the time it takes for it to charge up to fire a single bullet. It's very situational where it can prevent a flare from getting fired up if you react fast enough but that's about it.

It's also same scope as Liberator and Tenderizer, like Sickle is some kind of an assault rifle too
