Bot hit boxes?
Is it just me or are the hit boxes of the smaller bots a little, too small? Sometimes I’d swear my shots go right through them, but it’s hard to prove.

Shots do sometimes visually go through them without registering, yes.

It probably happens to every enemy, but is most noticable with the thin skeleton-like bots because they have less room for error.
Probably a form of desync.

I notice a similar issue when sniping devastators' heads (or hulks'), it sometimes registers as a ricochet when i see it actually bounce off of their heads or eyeslit.

Well that would be irksome.. Desync is sort of unavoidable sometimes, but it feels extra noticable sometimes. I notice it less often with larger enemies, and I clocked it up to them having larger hotboxes. That being said, I can't rule out that I'm just missing, but I swear, sometimes it feels like they have air where their abdomens are.

it feels extra noticable lately. i never used to notice such a thing till id say sometime around this last month or so.

I've never noticed this, maybe you're just being tricked by the third person view making it look like a shot phased through an enemy when it just missed. idk.

Possibly? With the bugs I prefer the third person, but with the bots I often prefer first, so I can use my sights. That being said, every time I need to reselect the sights,, I'm guessing there's a setting somewhere to determine if selecting first person will lock it into that setting, or only do so temporarily.

I've noticed this when using the sickle and the counter sniper in first person scope mode though.

There's a setting that lets you choose if you want your gun to "remember" which sight mode it was on.
You can also choose if you want this to be decided per weapon or just for every weapon overall.

without medium pen your shots will just bounce off pretty much all non trash bots(the ricochet graphic sometimes not even bothering to show), there are a few weak spot that bypass this, I find that most guns need to fire above the spot to actually hit it
The eruptor though, 100% have watched my round sail through the other side of a target

Maybe it's worse with different weapons? I notice it with the Jar-5 Erruotor.

Never had an issue with the jar-5 going through bots, I find it much more difficult to pop weakspots with it due to stagger it now has

This is a correct answer. Even though you have, say 30 rounds not all of them are actually being processed by the server. This gets worse when the game mechanics or game engine gets overloaded. The hitboxes have also become more complex since the 'big' balance update and this complicates what gamers call 'registry.' A huge example of all of this is the hitboxes of the Brood Commanders. When they 'rear' their hitboxes adjust and rounds(specifically my autocannon rounds) tend to shoot through them.

Here is a really good explanation of hitbox technology:

Played for a few hours last night, and the worst case I experienced was firing 3-4 jar shots though a small bots abs, then fired one shot at their chest and hit it. Not the worst issue, but definitely catches me off guard when I think it's happening.

It truly sucks, when you try to use high precision weapons like Diligence sniper rifles and AMR, only to have the shot not register hit on weakspot or miss completely.

Since last patch a lot of times shots are passing throught bots without hitting them. Only happening with the weakest one.

Arrowhead broke the game with the latest patch as they always do, but yeah lets lets go on vacation for a month and 2 weeks instead of fixing this ♥♥♥♥... ballistic shield still broken over a month now. No wonder the game is dying...
