Constant Crash when dropping in to start mission

So at least 15 or more times now i will start a mission alone, abandon the one i was on and try a new one, restart steam, restart my computer, try private and public matches, switch load outs and gear, try different strategems etc... but when you hit B to start the mission and everyone begins to drop in, as soon as the initial drop cut scene switches to the close ups of the diving hell-pods... well it just crashes and closes out the game? whats going on? I'm running on a custom built geforce rtx comp with 600 mbps wifi.. Its starting to truly test my faith in the game. I love this game but if it can't even be played then i may have no choice but to switch to something else for awhile till the developers fix all the bugs.. is anyone else having these issues?

I've had the last two missions I just tried to play crash on me, one after 20 minutes and one after like 5 minutes.

I'm having the same issue with solo missions. All drivers up to date too, running an RTX 6900 and a Ryzen 9.

I had a different issue. My game was crashing after a few seconds I loaded into the ship. I never had the problem before, it just started happening after a fresh install. I have a 10900k, and a 2080 ti.

But after scouring the internet for a while, checking drivers, removing mods, checking CPU heat and validating yadayada. It turns out, it works fine when in compatibility mode for windows 8 specifically. Helldivers 2 runs on a very outdated engine.

Unless you're on Linux or something else, I'd recommend setting the compatibility mode in for windows 8 or newer/older versions and see what happens.

1). Go to steam library.
2). Right click on Helldivers 2.
3). Go to manage and click on browse local files.
4). Go into the "bin" file and right click on "helldivers2.exe"
5). In the prompt, click on properties and then click on the compatibility tab at the top.
6). Check 'run this program in compatibility mode for'... and select Windows 8 in the drop down box below.
7). Test Run HD2
