no seriously im a tourist when it comes to helldivers ..im just curious
id like to hear peoples opinions on it
I want new orbitals, support weapons besides new rocket launchers- something I don't already have four of. People aren't gonna wait around forever.
nerfs and stuff huh?
a huh i see...
1.1) Server capacity issues at start created irritation
2) Devs got overwhelmed and fried out, not as much new content as hoped for yet
2.1) Quick fixes in the code have created a lot of "technical debt" where they still need to work on the core, some devs that knew it left, new hires learning it takes... a damn long time
3) To some extent the balancing, although 90% of the game's arsenal has been mostly untouched, most people I play with in the game feel like they've found a satisfying sweet spot, but might like some changes.
4) People have exhausted what this game has to offer so far.
5) Misinformation campaign/a lot of doomers blowing changes out of proportion because they're upset about relatively minor-moderate changes. Their feelings are valid, albeit grossly exaggerated, a ton of trolls with a defamation campaign.
interesting...still worth a buy or??
I believe you'll get your money's worth, I measure game satisfaction in hours of play vs. dollars spent. I am on the high end of players with 300 hours, though most players, on the lowest end, have gotten 40-80 hours.
When all the mechanics are fresh, it still feels like a great game to play and most of the in-game community is solid. If you have an AMD graphics card, beware though, those are more likely to crash during this game (I heard driver updates help).
I suggest watching youtube videos and seeing if you like the feel of it. The difficulty ranges are very wide giving you plenty of time to learn if it looks overwhelming.
Get it on sale. Most of the weapons are paywall'd and you'll end up spending $60+ total for all of the content counting the $40 price of admission. This game could have been f2p but Arrowhead wanted to have their cake and eat it too.
TLDR. Lots of broken promises, piss poor management, lackluster content that was overhyped, and now even hardcore players feeling nothing but apathy for the game.
Devs have given themselves 60 days to fix this game up, and that was two weeks ago so 1/4th the way to that deadline and we have seen nothing but talk and no action when right now actions matter as their yapping leads to nothing but more ridicule from the fans that just want to see this game be the fun game it was on launch.
DLC mostly just adds flavor.
$40 is a steal for the full game
