How the Hell do I do a solo Helldive against the bugs?
I tried everything but it just won't work. If I bring along weapons to deal with heavy armored enemies the small bugs overwhelm me and if I bring along a weapon to deal with the hordes then the armored enemies are almost invincible and the chargers are too fast to hit for the air and orbital strikes. What do I do? Does anybody have any loadout and stratagem tips for solo?

Watch these videos - These are solo runs I did

My advice is

Quasar / Breaker Incendiary/ Grenade Pistol / Impact Grenade
Orbital Rail / 500kg Bomb / Gunner Armor / Shield backpack

For Tips:

- You need to be constantly moving
- Use the breaker incendiary to burn enemies and then ignore them (the low level enemies usually die on their own from burns)
- Keep your rail for Behemoths/Bile Titans
- Grenade pistol is a must to break medium armor, and close down nests
- Circle around the map and drop supply drops everywhere. Don't stay in one place.
- The more you clear the map, the quieter it gets.
- Use the quasar to take down objectives from afar ( shrieker nests / nest holes)
- Run around obstacles like rocks/boulders. It confuses the enemies making it harder for them to follow you.

Wait what armor do you recommend?
Duke Nukem Jul 10, 2024 @ 4:38pm
Light Gunner Armor
The fastest armor with the highest stamina regen and highest defense for light weight.

There is no better armor in the game in my opinion.

Also when playing

Remember you cannot fight off infinite waves of enemies. So you should be retreating fighting. Don't be afraid to do half an objective and when they start looping reinforcements, just abandon the area to do another objective. Come back to it later, when the reinforcement s have left. You simply cannot win against 300 aliens rushing at you in an endless reinforcement loop.

You can also play " Stealth" and avoid enemy encounters. It would probably be easier to beat helldive aswell, but I usually fight off everything.

My runs are "No Stealth" runs. Many solo runners have beaten levels by just avoiding enemies.

Can you confirm this? I heard elsewhere that killing nests/fabs increases enemy spawns slightly, doing main objectives increases spawns greatly

In my experience -> Doing main objectives increases spawns towards the end when extracting
Doing optional objectives or destroying nests lowers enemies on the map.

After doing tons of solo runs that what I think.

Cruise control to full clears.

Loudout:
Incendiary Breaker, Grenade Pistol, Stun Grenades, Light Medical armor, whatever booster you like

Alternative loudout (better vs. Spewers):
Dominator / Scorcher, Grenade Pistol, Stun Grenades, Peak Physique if Dominator / Explosive Resist otherwise, whatever booster you like

Strats on most maps:
Flamethrower, Shield or Supply Pack, Airstrike, 500kg or Orbital Precision Strike (if no scatter)

Strats on maps with the new tall tree jungle biome and NO orbital scatter modifier:
Flamethrower, Shield or Supply Pack, Orbital Precision Strike, Orbital Gas or Orbital Airburst

Chargers eat a stun grenade ASAP and get cooked by focusing a single with the Flamethrower or eat Airstrikes. Spewers eat stuns and Airstrikes because Flamethrower isn't too good against them. If you have the Dom or Scorcher shooting them is viable. Bile Titans eat 500kg or Precision Strike. If they survive and have sacks left shoot the sacks and they might die. Otherwise just drop an Airstrike or something.

Orbital Build is generally weaker, but you literally can't play Eagles on the new jungle biome because bombs will blow up in trees. Gas and Airburst aren't efficient against Spewers, and can't really deal with structures, so keep that in mind. You could run barrages to have something against buildings, but your horde clear will suffer.

Don't even bother playing the new jungle biome if it has orbital scatter. It's just miserable.

Explosive Resistance armor reduces damage from Scorcher, GP AND Spewer and Titan acid attacks. If you suspect Spewers it's a very solid pick.

Light armour, medic perk or viper commando if you are using unwieldy weapons (it changes the game with those)

The most reliable build solo against terminids is flamethrower, stun grenade, you can deal with chargers easily, shield backpack is good for solo runs, otherwise the slow effects are overwhelming, I prefer supplies but shield will save you while you learn the tricks of solo runs. Eagle napalm is very good, like gatling orbital for breaches. Now you need something against titans, 500kg is a safe bet if you learn how to kite the attack animation.

Weapons: incendiary breaker, grenade pistol if you run stun, otherwise bushwacker.

If they didn't change it, destroying nests and fabricators increase the number of patrols. Main objective indeed increases dramatically the number of spawns, so when done go to extraction asap.

Here's what I recommend for solo bugs. I practically never have to stim either. You won't find any other build IMO that can solo bugs as fast as this.

Loadout is in description.

In depth walkthrough video below on how to beat bugs easily without wasting ammo and having to fight every bug you see.

Being near objectives and bases increases patrol spawn rates, killing all bases increases patrol spawn rates slightly, but patrols can only spawn towards the nearest edge of the map (easier to evade), completing the main objective massively increases spawn rates.

Extraction is considered an objective and thus increases spawn rates. Pressing the extract button will make all existing patrols move towards the extraction, which is why waiting for emergency extraction far away from the extract is the safest bet if you care about getting out alive (time your movement so that you get to the extract just as the Pelican lands).

Unless you know what you are doing you should only complete the main objective after you are mostly done with the map and ready to extract soon or you might get overwhelmed by the nearly 4x patrol spawn rate.

How hard would it be to solo a helldive mission with automatons?

The rail cannon takes the chargers out in one hit, and it doesn't miss.
