No idea why every map now has no way seeing any thing past 20m like some has fetish for fog, dust smoke its crazy bad
and new spawn system crap also
300+hrs really enjoyed logging on now can't even bothered
Its golden days way behind it such shame
the devs nerfing weapons and buffing spawns. breaking mission required consoles. game crashing, infinite load screens. i dont want to be a broken record butt..
and again in game purchases for a fully paid game.
They haven't come up with anything authentically new in months now (drilling missions and then a drilling mission where the drill explodes is not unique), the weapons are all very bland (since they keep nerfing any unique features to them), the Warbonds are hardly ever worth it except for maybe 1 item out of the 10 given and the Galactic War system is essentially "Hey, you know that planet you just liberated? Well, it's under attack again! Go re-liberate it!"
Not mentioned in the patch logs or on discord: then it hasn't happened, according to the internet "fans".
In the same way, we've had "dev has acknowledged issue" that just didn't exist, multiple times, just in the last month. Where what's going on is that a small discord-clique convinces themselves that something is a problem. The dev knows that it is not a problem, or that the problem being pointed out simply is not the culprit (see: Pilestedt and Sham's "patient/doctor relationship" allegory).
And if we are lucky, this time around, we're going to start seeing less of these "but maybe this is the issue, then!?" "fixes" that has caused anything from nerfs that simply don't make any sense, removal of mechanics that worked just fine, and to having broken patrol spawns for the last two months. The explosion radius of every explosion weapon being reduced to practically nothing, for example -- it comes from an attempt to mitigate people playing in high lag contexts getting thrown off the map, or getting flying bile-titans and chargers flying overhead. The whole "ricochet" thing - same problem: never existed as a problem, except in some infinitely narrow context having to do with lag and a good 90% imagination (with someone blaming a specific thing in the game for all their deaths, in a game where you die every five minutes at the best of times anyway). And it led to actual changes in the game. Same with the damage on the light weapons - they were buffed silently early on, because people just can't hit anything. And no one "noticed" that until they changed the status screen on the weapon selection screen. Basically, they're doing these "invisible" changes constantly.
Although perhaps less now that they've taken a less ridiculous position on how to "balance" the game.
But no guarantees when Sony is involved.
It's playable still, just not enjoyable.
A lot more grindy than when it first released and for absolutely no reward whatsoever.
From the article:
And that Shams says "PC performance issues" will be "the focus" going ahead, of course means "developer acknowledges performance issues".
This community is absolute ♥♥♥♥ from one end to the other.
They'll end up "fixing" the "performance" "issues" by forcibly turning the details down, and removing the gpu->cpu->gpu callbacks, remove animation being surface aware, and generally make the whole thing into an fps or something -- and the 0,01 percent of the player base who noises on twitter (with duplicate accounts to boost their content) will be happy.
Like they were happy when the game was destroyed with broken spawns for 2 months.
Didn't see the authorities on reddit complain about that.
The new strat buffs to the formerly-useless options, like Gatling Barrage, Eagle Strafe, Airburst, etc. being able to pierce heavy armor, as well as getting shorter call-in times for all orbitals and shortened cooldowns for the "quick response" strats, is VERY nice IMO. Orbital Scatter still sucks a fat one though.
So although the game doesn't feel as reasonable and fun as it did at launch -- and it never will again -- the "dmg" number in the weapon selection screen doesn't really tell you all that much about what kind of damage the guns do in the game.
But the moving away from shooting through the front armor and into the weak spots, and to just making the front armor a "fatal" panel -- completely horrible idea. That first system may have had some issues -- but they are not on the same level as what the "whittle down the health pools" system has.
Inside that system, the game works fairly ok now, though. Which took a good three months to achieve. After the game clearly had a different system developed over 8 years, that it kept until half a month after release..
So good call on that one, Sony..
The babies that still seethe over the railgun nerfs are still around, and they don't talk specifically anymore, they just simmer with their rage by saying generally that the balance is bad and that they're on the precipice of nerfing [insert weapon/strat that people are loving.] They have nothing to substantiate any of this, especially since the last major patch was ALL buffs except the Recoilless Rifle slower reload speed bug, which was confirmed a bug and later fixed.
Edit: I should add orbital precision strike, which was previously the "noob" stratagem everyone thought you were supposed to level out of is now buffed for shorter cooldown and deploy time. It'll 1 shot titans quickly and remove chargers. Very nice. Rocket sentry is also great firepower over a sustained length of time. The spear is insanely fun now that it works and doesn't crash you. Lots of things to have fun with and be glad about.
There have been a lot of bug fixes. People still have connection problems in the middle of matches I've seen. I don't get any more CTDs or crashes at extract or crashes using the spear, but infinite loading screens seem pretty common.
The biggest problem with the game, which is not going to be fixed anytime soon, is that the game is super stagnant. We're not going to get a major content patch for months, and the last major patch didn't even add much content. We got 1 new (buggy) mission type, 1 new biome, and the rest were just buffs to underused crap weapons/stratagems. This game puts out updates far too slow to be a good live service game. I can see why they would want to release it after 7 freaking years of development, but it really wasn't at a finished state on release.
