Can someone please explain the throwing knife's purpose to me? I really don't get it.

The description makes it sound like it's a "stealthy" weapon. But, like every other weapon in the game, if you hit an enemy with it, they (and all other enemies next to them) will immediately go into a "medium alert" state and make a beeline towards the exact spot you were at when you threw it.

Um... surely, there's some hidden game mechanic I'm missing here related to the throwing knives, right? Do they instantly kill bile titans if you throw one in their mouth or something?

What I think would have been really cool is if they gave the knife a melee takedown maneuver that came with some I-frames. So if you were backed into a corner and surrounded by bugs, you could melee the nearest warrior which would perform a quick takedown animation and potentially put you on the other side of the bugs so you can run away.
