The new MO is kind of lazy
It's a repeat of what we had to do last week and the fact its a timed event means personnally i dont feel much incentives to complete it as it means a week of doing the same things for no real rewards for the long run in this war.

We get a bunch of planets in a sector to liberate it -> we get thrown on the other side where three quarters of the time the automatons MO get half hassed. -> All our previous work is scrapped -> repeat. Bear in mind that any capacity of actually liberating planets/systems on our own especially now that we have the supply lines is taken away by the content and pace of the latest MOs (Gracrux has also been an example of this imo), all the half done stuff is left to decay because of how fast we got to react and on many planets we got to take at others sectors when we are just done in the area.

I am not asking for stratagems straight up and everytime but perhaps some other types of rewards like real fortified SEAF colonies being established on some planets after clearing some of these MOs which in turns gives us defense buff on these planets when they get attacked or involved in another MO. Or maybe it blocks supplies so the warfront got to move to another direction until an event involves the fortified colony being overrun and destroyed ? And its just a small idea on top of my head, im sure a lot of adaptations and different stuff that just impacts the system as it is without the need to create new assets or systems. It would also allow for a more brutal feeling of the automatons/terminids counter attacks. Right now they just kinda feel like they are popping here and there magically.

I know im exposing myself to the rah rah speech of the gameplay loop itself being the reward but i think its a bad take as im not asking reward as the sole helldiver but rather meaningful impacts made by the community on the warfront over time if they put the efforts and coordination to complete the MOs.

Right now the whole war feels like a mouse and cat game rather than a brutal endless war on two (three ?) fronts with heavy casualties for everyone.

Yeah but that brings me down to a couple of game here and there over an entire week at random places with minimal impact compared to me being actively dedicated to the community cause when there is an incentive or even better a tangible reward to get at times. I feel like when we look past a vocal minority of complaints for different reasons this one might be one of the biggest why the chill playerbase that can enjoy the game with it flaws are not as active as they used to be.

They already did it with the training facilities and i think its a fumble to not keep doing those type of small rewards even if you want to give them very little power in terms of effect because the goal is not to clear the entire galaxy within months if Joel doesnt put up some MOs to prevent this from happening. But the galaxy map being highlighted with more rewards from our previous efforts would make this entire virtual war a bit more satisfying and even from a "roleplay" point of view.

I don't think you are being unreasonable. I also really like the more meaningful content that shapes the strategic map more, for better or for worse.

Right now I think there will be a bit of a lul in the war, partially because of a real life holiday in Sweden (many people take July off). The other reason is that those flanks are just a real problem from a strategic standpoint. Both factions are taking taking advantage to go wide and running with taking more outer rim planets. If the player base had managed to hold the bots from expanding the flank so far or managed to contain the terminids to Gacrux, then there would be less need to contain them again.

Really too bad about Vandalon IV. Bots are at .75% burn rate per hour (very low) and it really hurts to have a 5-way planet just waiting to blow two sectors up. Hopefully in the intervals where the MO is not being fought Vandalon can get some progress made...I am not overly hopeful given history.

yes, sadly all the progress we made on the bot front will be undone as players will just focus on the bug MO and more and more planets will fall due failed defense campaigns. and I say this as someone who mainly fights on the bug front.
I don't particularly enjoy fighting bots, but the hours I put in the bot MO is pretty much wasted, because we have a week long bug MO of capturing 6 planets. add to that, the bugs will keep taking more planets in the other side of the bug front too.
the MOs seem like meaningless grindfests. there are simply too many planets to fight over to meaningfully advance the status of the galactic war. it's been months since we took the wiped out the bots and they returned taking a bunch of planets, and their territory only expaned since.

if we get another front to fight on with the introduction of the squids, the community will be too fractured to keep up, and we'll start losing planets at an accelerated rate. and since liberation rate is adjusted based on the number of active players, having more players fighting does nothing.
