They are human, not a machine that can just ignore all that. That is mentally draining and affects work.
I doubt the devs would have been dumb enough to make a mistake like the mod did.

Either way, it would have only been a silly meme for a bit, and those that took it too far would have gotten banned, but the over reaction turned it into a challenge. And time has always shown us, you dont challenge the internet.

It was a meme, people take enjoyment in silly things. Not everyone shares your (lack of) humor. The best possible response to it would have been to just let it burn itself out, instead they overreacted.
I find many things amusing, hundreds of people spamming a singular letter and overloading an entire chat that had people in it prior is Malicious.
