Also counsil members - the tankiest MFers out there armed with, ofcourse, mind confusion.
In HD1 they were the WORST faction to fight, followed by the cyborgs. Bug were easy in both games.
Where the cyborgs were brute overwhelming firepower, the illuminate were more of a devious tricks kind of enemy. They generated shield walls that prevented anyone from being able to run away, they could snipe you from an insane distance, and were generally very annoying to fight. Their units weren't as tough the cyborgs, but they made up for it with disabling/CC/hindering powers basically. And they look to function the same way in HD2 based on the leaks.
- The bots will kill you with laser fire.
- The bugs will kill you with tooth and claw.
- The illuminates will literally annoy you to death.
If I remember correctly, it just reverses your controls; up becomes down, and right becomes left. It only debuffs you for a few seconds.
Yeah, it's gonna be the same here plus all the new ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ a psychic alien and their strange advance tech can do.
