Way more effective and no risk of dropping the whole ass ship on ally's head.
I managed to shoot one carrying an AT-AT just before it stopped (was aiming at another dropship but then that one showed up and got lucky with my quasar), and instead of dying horribly in a crash, it safely lands and begins pummeling us.
Other times I shoot a dropship down and Ill see a kill count of say, x4 or something like that to indicate I killed a bunch of enemies (and in before "that still just counts as one!" LOTR joke).
With how crazy the spawn rate gets at higher difficulties, it should be changed to where if you shoot it down with say, 3 seconds of it dropping off the bots, the crash landing should kill everything underneath it.
If you can die from impact for being thrown against a rock, the bots sure as heck should die if a massive ship falls on top of their heads. It seems they already have the physics coded for damage from impacts.
Or at least show them heavily damaged with sparking, smoking, and the bots on fire.

Not like most who have played a lot haven't seen this but basically heavy enemies are not destroyed by the others either are or damaged. In short, don't waste the shot on the dropships bringing only tanks or factory stiders.
