Speech to text for DEAF people

How hard is it for developers to enable Speech to text for people who manage to TURN IT ON?
Text to speech is broken af right now. But that shouldn't stop Speech to Text to actually do its job to freaking transcribe what people say....How can Sea of Thieves manage this simple task, when basically any steam live service game fails to even try to use common logic.

There are plenty of free Speech to text AI codes that can easily be implemented, yet vast majority of games can't for the life of me realise that not everyone in the world can hear normally.

In the beginning it used to just read off the chat which was great. Then sometime around the first warbond it started reading everything and queuing it up so I'd hear ♥♥♥♥ I hovered over 10 minutes ago. Would be nice to see it fixed.

I have a hint for you, Sea of Thieves had many more years and a multitude of a larger amount of developers on top of a higher budget to get that tech to work in an engine build to be accessible.

HD2 doesn't have any of those things. Also as a person from Europe, being able to speak the same language as the other players is rarely a given. If we manage, so will you.

Don't play video games if you have a disability that makes you angry. Play video games for fun. Helldivers 2 does not require communication to play. Just stick to Level 5 difficulty and below. Objectives are easy to do, destroy nest, fabricators, etc. You don't need to hear your NCO screaming at you telling you what to do.

I didn't, I said that assuming everyone can talk if they're not deaf as ignorant as the OP's issue. But if Euro players can play the game fine without being able to understand each other's speech than it's clearly possible to play the game deaf and thus unable to hear the other players. Doesn't mean there not other barriers to being a deaf player but the specific one isn't a blocker.

Wouldn't... Wouldn't not hearing the helldivers, enemies and various sound ques be a bigger issue?
At least based on my experience, people using voice is an oddity.

Well yeah, you can only solve so much with accessibility features, but even though you can't make up for everything with text that doesn't meant that you shouldn't at least try to facilitate communication.
