This is what i do personally if i see someone go off on their own unless they are just insanely faster then i am, i just get their back and keep them protected.
While not true on all missions, two groups of two is a good way to play. Group A go right, Group B go left, achieve sub goals along the way, meet at main goal.
A lot of people pass on placing markers even which can be useful as well, just markers and the wheels to communicate is pretty effective lol If i shoot someone i use the sorry on the wheel for example.
its enough to get the point across really some of the best random teams i have dominated with used the wheel and markers weather it was 4 man push or 2 split both were fantastic when using them.
Splitting up is teamwork.
I'll give you that point, sometimes the best random teams need very little communication to work well together. I've had that happen not just in this game but in many others.
However, if we cycle back to the OP complaining about teamwork, they should try the chat options, which includes the radial chat options in game. And I have to admit I'm rather bad at using the radial chat. I'll mark, but anything more than that I use the chat.
A lot of people choose to ignore those though...
Nailed it! :D THIS
So many players panic orbital and it's a little irritating to be 500k or Napalmed just because someone got surrounded and figured killing everyone and everything was the play.
It really is so much easier to just go and do the other objective solo unless you see the rest of the team know what they are doing.
Without exaggeration I think more than half of all my deaths are TK's
