Realistically? Probably you'll see some 10% or 20% sales at most during big Steam Autumn sales or around there. Then perhaps a 25% or so sale at most during the end of year Holidays.

Don't expect a bigger discount anytime soon though. This game has no need to go on discount and only just recently came out. In general games like this don't get big discounts until they have been out for at least a year and a half, and popular/successful titles like this tend to have fewer major sales. In this case I would think a 50% sale in a couple of years is not impossible, but I wouldn't count on that either.

Counter-Strike has only grown its concurrent player numbers because it just focuses on being fun, there's no subtle messaging or cringe writing beyond some of the player skins and operations, but they're 100% optional.

Counter-Strike started as a Half-Life mod and was basically free if you bought Half-Life. But we don't have the steam numbers for Half-Life player count data that long ago.

Use a better example and something recent. If you look at blockbuster PvE games like Elden Ring, it too saw a great start of active playerbase during the release month, after that it dipped just like every other game.

My point is in CS2 you can just shoot things but in Helldivers 2 you're subjected to a woke intro, body type selector instead of gender selector (spun into voice selector instead) and the dialogue that does exist is forced like they're really trying to shove it in your face.
