Increasingly poor performance/FPS drops

Has anyone else been experiencing massive drops with FPS with every patch they introduce? Ive been getting massive reduction in FPS lately to the point where I have to turn down settings (something I didnt need to do when the game launched) and even then im not seeing any improvement in FPS. Its starting to become unplayable.

Jokes aside, yes. There were performance hits on the latest updates, though some people have reported a increase of performance by installing the latest drivers and clearing the shaders from your %appdata% > Arrowhead > Helldivers 2 folder. Try that one out.

Also, it is inevitable that as a game is updated, it would require more of your computer power in order to work, such as loading assets increasing RAM and VRAM usage and what not. Do you mind posting your computer specs?

The issue isn't graphics it's CPU load, given the game has a very performance-demanding anticheat if you don't have a pretty strong CPU it'll bottleneck your card usage.

Limiting FPS usually helps keep your computer from getting that noisy, worked for me at least.

The issue isn't graphics it's CPU load, given the game has a very performance-demanding anticheat if you don't have a pretty strong CPU it'll bottleneck your card usage.

This is indeed, a really heavy game for CPUs due to the amount of behaviour the game has to calculate all the time. Though it has an option on the menu's that I only found out recently which is Async Compute, it makes so part of the load being taken to the CPU is instead done by the GPU. Should help in the scenario where your CPU is bottlenecking but your GPU has horse power to spare.

I have CPU i9 11900F and 4090, and a maximum 70 fps with drops to 40. I can bet before this update I had 100 fps, but I could be wrong. I didn't pay attention to this before

i have a 3070ti and don't have performance issues. I'm sorry your machine is bottlenecked or otherwise not up to the task
