1. It's cool. No doubt
2. It will 1-shot devastators if you hit them in the face; very satisfying.
3. You can reload it 1 bullet at a time on the way to the next destination so you never need to have partial magazine like with the redeemer or waste ammo.
Otherwise it's D-tier sidearm. You really have to stop and think about which weapon is worse, the dagger which always has ammo available and no damage, or this which has damage and never has ammo available.

They do, if you hit them right. Unless you are talking about big or heavily armored bugs, in which case: no they shouldn't.
