Now there is way more to it than this, but it explains why some weapons are no good.
On level 9 you need a lot of dps to hold your ground, or the enemy will just herd you around untill you get spotted by more patrols, and then you die.

Hey man, you're gonna have to use the full names of weapons I have no idea what most of those are.

I have one of these too, including support weapons. Been thinking I might make a website.

It's good to consider dps but it's fare from the whole story. People get really quick kills on gunships despite it having the same dps as scythe, for instance. Then you have weapons where the direct hit and explosion have different damage types and armour penetration values.

These numbers you don't even need to datamine for, the numbers are ingame. I'm curious about the DPS output on strategem weapons though. For example, how much does the DPS of a stalwart actually differ from primaries for example and just how sad is the railgun's damage these days?

Kinda crazy takeaway is that marksman is kinda underrated, total damage notwitstanding.
Also somebody put this on a table somewhere. Can't read it clearly this way.

Also good to know, if what you hit has the same level of armor as the penetration level of your weapon, you'll only deal 50% of the weapons damage, indicated by the white hit marker. Red hit marks indicate that the penetration if over the level of the armor, doing full damage on the part, notwithstanding other modifiers.

So medium penetration weapons may have lower raw damage than thoses with only light penetration, but will end up doing more on heavier enemies.

The information is warped if you don't include a full reload

I remember the stat from a hand tested video stating that the damage on the stalwart is 55.
So the DPS would be 642/779/1054. Pretty good I should say, considering the mag and ammo size would make for a very large sustained DPS values.

Marksman rifles have very poor handling. You can never fully utilize their dps outside of the biggest targets.

Stalwart is 55 damage same as Liberator. You find a lot of equivalents like these in the game. MG-43 is 80 damage, same as Adjudicator, Laser Cannon is 300dps, same as Scythe.

I could link you a list of all the values but people here don't like reddit.

DPS is important, but so is penetration and breakpoints.
Dakota Apr 18, 2024 @ 8:02pm
Made a quick spreadsheet, DPS alone doesn't really tell a full story of a weapon's effectiveness, but here it is.

Actually, a better metric would be TTK, - Time to kill vs different enemies.
Eruptor looks pretty bad on that chart, but it kills Bile Balls in 1-2 shots, or 0-2,4 seconds.

Yeah, though we'd need to know health of different enemies, or do a lot of testing to get that data, and the time to kill depends on where you hit. I can kill a berzerker in one hit with an eruptor or take a whole mag depending on shot placement.
