i do coordinate, what are you on about? am i the one that has to read the minds of the quasar players?
Guess it depends on who is shooting these down and with what though. Since i usually use quasar, I pull it out a little after they tell me the ship is coming but before I even see it and start charging shot, then I drop it right before it drops guys or right after and either way it 'usually' kills most all of them.
I agree there is no point once it starts flying away except for the satisfaction of taking it out.
Trade off between 2 quasars each shot and a couple guys can make the extract civs missions fairly trivial depending on level.
Ok I'll think a little before I start blasting into the sky like a tottering maniac.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell dude, i already explained, i wasnt standing under the dropship!!!!
i waited for it at a a safe distance, from cover
i trew my impact grenades at the enemies
after they died i ran twards the dropship because thats the direction where the objective was
someone shoots the dropship as it is leaving
dropship almost hits me
I already wrote that but he asks me again "why was i standing under the dropship"
literally awnsered that already as i never was under the dropship
therefore if he doesnt know, he didnt read
I
WAS
NEVER
UNDER
THE
DROPSHIP
2: it actually allows you to destroy the cargo on more dropships as you dont need to worry about the one i shoot down anymore
3: if i pay attention and start pre-charging it, it can be faster than shooting the cargo
1: all devastators survive most of the time
2: only helpful if you shoot it down far away enough that the bots cant shoot at you from behind the crashed dropship
3: correct
2: if they are all dead, they cant shoot us.
true, i do that too
Then why is this even a topic in the first place? If people are complaining about incapable of destroying everything onboard a Dropship, then it at least there's a "Better" way to go about it. Taking a Quasar Cannon for such Missions like Evacuations is absolutely powerful and taking out ships at the very least renders the Raiders at least dead, perhaps not Devastators at the very least but one shop alone doing that makes it potent. It also causes a blockade (Although terribly due to collision) but it either glitches out the surviving enemies or traps them under the wreckage.
Then people would complain about about why Dropships are not dying because they aren't capable of bringing it down. And this ain't even on the Quasar Cannon either, it'll affect the other Anti-Tank options too. It becomes pointless to even try anymore and this even makes certain missions near impossible and brings back the contention that players hated for a while when the first Evacuation Missions popped up, too many enemies dropping in. Then we are forced to bring Sentries all over again.
There's no easier balancing here without affecting the other and causing repercussions in the process. If it weakened the heavier armored, I'd be on board but it doesn't do that either, you certainly expect a Tank dropping from such a high relevation would be rendered immobile or be one shot away if a dropship landed on it. Or a Hulk being crippled in some manner, or something that would bring whatever's onboard into "Bleeding".
The reward of stopping a Dropship should be clear because we are able to take it down, or never intended to in the first place if enemies don't die or severely affected by its crash, let alone crushed under it. What is the point then?
The answer should make the Dropship viable to take down than to ignore it. Otherwise it makes the game more difficult because we let it drop its reinforcements and then it becomes Genre of Bullet Hell.
heavy devastators always survive from what i seen, as far as the rest, it depends when the dropship is shot down, if its shot down early you can kill preety much almost everything, but if you shoot it down very late, you arent doing mutch and they will survive
