Flashlights
I've heard somewhere, that your primary/secondary weapon flashlight can give away your actual location/presence to the enemies during a night time (mostly to automatons i guess, but i believe to a bugs as well, since they also have a detection system based on a sight on top of hearing). If it's true, wouldn't it be neat to have a tactical use of flashlights on top of a practical? I still remember all of my pain playing battlefield 4 and trying to kill dudes with their flashlights on (especially on a dark maps/badly lit areas), that thing could easily give away your position/presence, yes, but also it had a fairly tactical use of obscuring yourself behind the flashlight to make it way more difficult for your enemy to land a precise and accurate shots on you. My point is, if we have so much neat little details already like rounds discarding, weapons sways due to their different weights, different kinds of injuries to legs/arms which affecting the way your diver controls/holds aim/moves/reacts, etc, why wouldn't we have such thing as tactical flashing? In my opinion, this would fit perfectly for the automaton faction, so if one or more of them are trying to shoot you down, flashing them would make them miss more, like idk, with some percentage of their accuracy reduction (not much, maybe 10-15%, depending on the distance between you and them or intensity of your flashlight). But what would you presonally want to see in terms of tactical stuff?

Have snuck near bots, aimed directly at their face with flaslight turned on (hek, the Liberator Penetrator even has a laser sight), was not spotted. I was prone within something like under 10m. If flashlights gave away your position, they would have seen me, but they didn't.
Can confirm, I turned on flashlight once to see the enemies better, and then they suddenly reacted and saw me. Was a crazy detail.

Environmental conditions also affect enemy sight.

Snowstorm makes robots legally blind.

Approaching from the front will always make them spot you, just distance will differ based on your stance.

Approaching from behind, while at least crouching will never make them spot you, flashlight or not.

Yes, that's true. Althought i was just trying to make sense regarding flashligts specifically as they seem to be underutilized at some capacity as of now. And yeah, about the storms, i once got into a heavy sandstorm, managed to sneak to heavy automaton's base and destroyed every single fabricator without even being noticed, had tons of fun from doing that

Looks like it's not completely a rumor, thank you for sharing this

Have you ran a light scout armor? Cuz 30% spotting reduction is serious, at this rate you can just breathe straight in the enemy face and he/it will just "WHAT WAS THAT NOISE?"😁
