Why is my character so slow when walking/sprinting?
This is something that makes a huge difference for me. I get that the gunplay is not tight and reactive as other shooters and thats ok but the movement speed always feels so sluggish, drawn out and almost useless when running toward or away... Is this normal? I hope they bring more QoL improvements to the movement in the game so it doesn't feel so floaty/unresponsive at times when moving.

Edit: After watching some YT videos, I noticed better movement in most cases... I think the skills and the enhancement drugs will make a difference when I get them.

Your character is wearing armour.

You haven't run yourself out of stamina, have you?

Check what armor type you're wearing. Heavier armor = slower movement.

Moreso I suspect they have never served and have no idea of the actual weight soldiers normally carry. Who knows if they have stamina.

probably got heavy armour on !

True - BUT a strong soldier has training to move at a decent pace with armor. I did wear light & medium and it seems it is more of a movement issue as well as actual speed... Now, of course, this is a video game where anything is possible so they can do better mechanics for movement... Why havent they? Don't you agree?

Stamina is pretty short but its not an issue here.

Scout armor will give you the most movement. The armor has stats. Also, the environment can slow you down. I typically take the running stick man skill, I forget the name. It helps with movement and stamina.

Stamina Enhancement + Muscle Enhancement

I mean if you are comparing movement speed to the godly m/s pace that many modern FPS have character floating heads/gun barrels zipping around a map, then yeah, HD2 can feel sluggish by comparison.

If you feel slow compared to videos of gameplay on YouTube, increase your vertical FOV to the max 90 degrees. That widens the horizontal FOV to around 130-150 and will give a faster feel to over-shoulder movement.

I can't imagine how the movement could be described as 'floaty'. It is so grounded and sloggish that it couldn't be further from floaty if you were dragging a ball and chain behind you.

Armor and terrain affects movement speed. And some environmental effects does this too.

Mud, water, deep snow, bushes, razor wire and etc. slows movement and inhibits sprinting.

Heavy armor confer movement speed and stamina penalty

Blizzards, Tremors and etc. which affect map at random periods also cause movement penalties, Blizzards being constant when happening, while Tremors cause temporary slow and depletion of stamina. When viewing planet through War Room Holo, you can check environmental effects there.

There might be more stuff, since I got in this game at just beginning of April...

Floaty as in not super responsive and feels like the char is not grounded while walking and yes definitely sluggish... Thats how I perceive it.
