I love this gun but it invalidates all other assault rifles, for a numbe rof reasons, firstly it has a large mag u can fire like 70-100 times before it overheats, it has same dmg as liberator and even faster fire rate+ infinite ammo
btw i dont want the sickle to be nerfed just the other stuff buffed

i dont want it nerfed, the other stuff is jsut garbage and needs a buff, like increase mag size from 45 to 55 and maybe dmg from 55 to 60 or something like that

Yeah it has its moments.
It's a laser weapon posing as a plasma bolt caster thing posing as an assault rifle.... but no armor penetration or overheat mechanics like the Scythe and tube.

actually if Helldivers 1 is the template 2 is going to follow some of the later warbonds are likely going to have nutty assault rifles with excellent power, never mind a laser submachine gun with a stupid fire rate

well, there are a few things to consider. 1. The sickle does energy damage, not kinetic damage. It also functions worse on hot planets. It also only has light armor penetration, as opposed to the medium penetration of the penetrator, and it does not cause stagger like the concussive.

I quite like the sickle, but it is hardly the end all, be all of assault rifle.

even on hot planets its much better than liberator or defender smg

It's unfortunately almost useless on planets with lots of plants, since it still can't penetrate leaves.
it also doesn't penetrate chain link fences, which is terribly annoying and sometimes allows a bot/bug to call in reinforcements.

I hope these are going to be addressed, and if they are fixed I think the gun will be OP all around. It's already the best choice for any barren, cold planet.

Shame on you. You have over 200 hours on record. You should already know how things work around here. Now we know who's fault it is when Sickle gets hit with the nerf bat.

Honestly think it would be better to introduce enemy types with plasma shield and making laser weapons more effective. IMO I dont think the sickle needs to be changed its just that there aren't enough enemies currently to make EVERYTHING have a role.

Cause if had say shielded enemies with less hp then that right there you can balance laser weapons around countering shields like how they are normally portrayed in other games.

Rn there is a downside to the laser projectile just getting blocked by vegetation due to it not being an actual round. But honestly when they add the illuminate I think balancing the sickle will be far easier.

It'll depend on what they add for enemies though.

yeah sure its gonna be my post that causes a sickle nerf haha, im just a bit sad its the only viable AR, i hate playing the same weapons all the time, but going in with standart liberator feels like crippling yourself

This is just a graphical problem.
What actually happens is......... none of the other guns go through the leaves either. You just see the sparks from the sickle and not from the liberator, etc.

Dead ass had a bot in a bush that was effectively immortal but could still shoot out. You have to go beat them to death with melee. Redeemer won't go through a lot of bushes, liberator won't, etc, etc.

As for chain link I shoot through that pretty regularly with the sickle.

Yeah it's my one and only rn. When they nerf it I'll find another but for now the Sickle is love...sickle is life. Gonna use it up til it ain't useful or I'd just miss the fun it has.

I am only using guns with infinity ammo cuz I am GREEDY, even if the gun is super trashy weak like that laser pistol.
