This.
You want to go down to an alien planet, filled with who knows how many pathogens, literally burning atmospheres, temperatures that make frostbite look like a sunburn, fighting robots and alien bugs that splatter you with what is probably, extremely toxic biological and chemical fluids.
And you want to take off your helmet.
You sir, are not well. Report to the biovats for immediate recycling.
Which would only be 10 skill points.
And it's be simple things.. like if you put 4 points into say, stamina, you have maybe 4 seconds longer of running.. we all need that.
Many cool looking helmets, but it is a shame not to wear them, because the colors don't match with the armor.
You don't have a character like that in Helldivers, this is why the Default voice is "Random". Each Helldiver is their own person. Meaning if you die 6 times during a mission, 6 Helldivers lost their lives. You don't respawn. They aren't clones. Each is a new character.
The point of a uniform is to ... be uniform. I know, its in the name. And removing the Helmet is ill advisable, as the whole suit seems to be sealed and the Helmets fitted with Gas Masks or Rebreathers.
But the main reason there won't be the option to dye anything is because its a live service game intented to sell cosmetic options. And while i am sure they could sell color palettes, i very much doubt we'll see the option to dye armor any time soon, if ever.
gross
yep.
I do that already.
I think having us all be anonymous keeps it simple
Same with showing names as just a letter and a number, it creates a level playing field
