Fire tornadoes should NOT spawn on objectives or extraction
Just like the title says. Every single game on Hellmire, fire tornadoes are constantly spawning directly on top of objectives and extraction. I love the idea of fire tornadoes, but their current execution just ain't it. I shouldn't have to be spamming my stim button just to get into shuttle while half my team dies trying to dive into the extraction shuttle.

Are fire tornadoes only on Hellmire? If so, then we don't have to worry anymore since we captured it.

Nah, selective weather is silly. I'd actually like the weather effects to be even more extreme, otherwise all planets feel the same.

I'd have to agree. Trying to do terminals while the fire tornado literally sits and does the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ griddy on top of it is incredibly infuriating, especially when you're trying to juggle 3 BTs, 5 chargers, and all the chaff that the bug queen can birth.

I'd recommend making "points of exclusion" in a 3-5 metre radius around the terminals, and a 10-15 metre radius around the shuttle landing point.

You missed the point, choom.

We aren't upset about the environmental effect itself, in fact they're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome. We just think they shouldn't be able to effectively soft-lock us out of Objectives and such temporarily.

But I like that, it forces you to hold position and fight off enemies while waiting for it to dissipate, it adds a tactical element.

I'd be excited to know what sort of "tactics" are applicable in a situation where the enemies are cleared yet tornadoes insist on setting the terminal on fire for well over a minute.

Fire tornadoes don't care about us. They go where they please. They go wherever the wind takes them.

For real, though, you're essentially asking them to remove fire tornadoes. Like, "they're cool, but only when they don't affect my game."

Why does everybody want this game to be a cakewalk?

Totally agreed. Let us keep the tornadoes as they are, for they are amazing.

Actually they do care, they literally follow you no matter where you go, they are programmed to do that in order to farm for engagement from the player. Do you ever see them hovering over bug nests or bug holes? No, only POIs and areas where the player needs to go.

I've also timed them, they never dissipate, period, have fun wasting the incredibly limited time that the devs "graciously" gave us in order to finish an objective. While waiting for the tornadoes to totally not care about us and move on, which they will never do.

Gamers have figured out how to not stand in the fire for 20+ years now.

I am sure you can figure it out too.

On the one hand, it certainly is inconvenient when you need to access a console, but can't cause a fire tornado is wreaking havoc at that spot.
On the other hand, it does offer some fun chaotic moments in-game that make things a bit unpredictable and you need to adapt for a moment.

I don't think it's too bad, but a little tweaking might be good to do anyways.

What they need is for the fire trail they leave to burn out much more quickly. I was doing an ore mission, and when bringing down the doohickey at the end, we get tornadoes. One raked directly over the objective, and set it on fire. It was impossible to interact with the terminal without dying. Just as the fire was burning out, another tornado went across the same spot. And another one. Waiting well over a minute waiting for fires to burn out is not my idea of engaging gameplay.

Yeah, standing around and waiting for the fire to die out isn't that great.
A reduction of the burn-time of the ground might be a good compromise.

it's only temporary. they're dynamic weather effects, if they don't affect the gameplay at all it'd be boring.
