Found it to be useless vs bugs AND Bot shots.
And Melee.
And explosions.
And Acid.
And arc discharge.
And other divers.
Was disappointed. :-(
Besause it is a "ballistic" shield. Since the bugs do not use bullets, a ballistic shield should be and is pretty useless.
That is until the termicide causes a bug mutation that makes some of them spew tiny, bony projectiles. Then it may become viable.
It is a bit like the flametrower and the bots. It was not very useful, because of its range against bots, but really shined as a weapon against bugs. But nobody screamed to quadruple its range, so you can fight bots effectively with it.
I dont think the answer is to give certain equipment unreasonable perks that lack grounding in reality. The solution would be to make an enemy type where it could be useful.
Yeah, since we all historically know that shields' primary use always were bullets
Stopping any other physical object (unlisted in its name) is absurd!
which is probably why it will never happen. in terms of coding ok, if something hits this, does it take damage or is it like a gun shot and bounces of
cause as far as I can tell, the bugs are razor shop and can basically cut through metal like butter, so the shield probably won't work
which is why the magical shield works best for bug attacks
its not exactly great like it is against bots (rip), but it does at least somewhat function.
...not well tho...
