HELLDIVERS™ 2
this game is honestly kinda overrated
it's just running around an empty map for 10 minutes, to pick someone's coronavirus test, whilst you get attacked by squishy terminators in numbers that barely make any sense. Meanwhile your team is spamming beacons that bomb the map every 9 seconds, even though our ships can't do that from orbit, in spite of the enemy having 0 space presence.

The game has a good gameplay loop, but lacks artistic integrity. Voice acting, music and some of the visuals are generic on purpose. The story is mostly made up by some guy wirting the wiki. And the introductory cutscene would have been cool 20 years ago, nowadays it's just cliche and predictable. Especially considering bad uncanny valley graphics.

There are not enough character models, people wear ♥♥♥♥♥♥ wacky armours, instead of doing Starship Troopers "helmet with a face", cause it's cheaper and developers clearly can't animate human faces, cause the characters on the ship look ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I'd rather have DS3 human models than whatever the ♥♥♥♥ this is.

Instead of having an interesting experience of people being slaughtered, I just hear a bunch of Gears of War Carmines running around like ants shooting aliens like a bunch of Mary Sues, cause the video game devs could not design an interesting coop experience without it making feel like we're a bunch of protagonists. In spite of the game aiming to do the opposite. There is a clear disconnect between this game's development teams. With one side wanting to make a politically charged story-rich satire, and the other being just random dudes wanting to create new Left 4 Dead, except you spend 90% of your time running around with the world's most obnoxious stamina system.

Add cars, please.

You Described 1 to 1 Games like CS Call of Duty Battlefield and so on, and they are Mega Successful doing the exact Same.
Edit: Or Deep Rock galatic
Deep Rock Galactic maps from what I've seen are tiny, claustrophobic and you need to dig in them. And there is constantly some ♥♥♥♥ happening. In this game its either... Extermination, here have 20 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thousand enemies rushing you even before you manage to call in your jetpack. Or "damn, this sure is a nice view. How about a sandstorm so it takes even longer to get anywhere".

And I'm sure that eventually, when I get good enough, I'll play the stupid high difficulty mods, or not. But dumping 40 tanks on my head won't solve the issue that this game's maps are just documentaries about tourist destinations with barely anything interesting happening in them. The locations, I think, are randomly generated. They have 0 world building. The enemy emplacements are just shoved in there, randomly. And it's always just... You open up a text box, and there is like one line of text saying

"Super Earth hates aliens, and you are dumb". Like what the ♥♥♥♥ is this. No weapons descriptions. No interesting ship interiors. No interesting enemy locations. You never go into like an automaton industrial complex. You're always just blowing up their stupid outposts. Even though the planet is supposed to be swarming with them. And you don't even get to see any interesting human settlements.

Like in the trailer you see aliens attacking human houses, and I know this was a propaganda piece. They probably won't ever get there, cause they aliens are probably actually relatively passive. We just pissed them off. But can we at least get like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Mars city to fight in. Or something? Not just... Walking around freaking... Naturalistic setpieces that are for some reason completely devoid of wildlife, but have almost 0 buildings in them.

tbh, what i meant by that was it'd be cool if you could choose your place for extraction, and the maps were maybe a tiny bit smaller or there could be some ways of travelling around. Though a car would probably ruin the balance of the game...
Car are already in the games files, they will likely be released in the month
can't wait to drive into mines

You calling helldivers Carmines made me bust out laughing, that's such a good description for these dorks.

Go play older games where day 1 patches were non existent then. If the game falls flat to your expectations don't come back to what ultimately results in a mediocre experience for you.
All I got outta this was the game is stale and please add cars and everything in between didn't even lead into the last statement that left a Segway or impression to remember the middle.
At least get me a bike with a side car for the MG homie if I'm gonna blast Fire Emblems Together We Ride across hellmire catapulting off the weird ragdoll egg things on the ground at 587 m/s with 3 bile titans 2 chargers and a metricly, collective ass of hunters.

There weren't day 1 patches because developer houses actually cared to release a functional game, not like these greedy developers who keep releasing broken games BUT with shop and microtransactions fully functional.
I'd trade back then with today, any time. None of the developers have any sort of passion left on doing games just greed, money and lies.
The game is fun, but I requested a refund because it is online co-op only. Makes me sad because the gameplay is fun. I just can't do the online co-op thing.
Such a long text is overrated...
Did you bought the game because it ended up in headlines, or did you actually did any kind of most basic research to know what it is about?

DRG is the exact same type of game and just like HD2, DRG is also considered overrated by people who are not objective coop games oriented.

i've seen this video about it
https://youtu.be/gzQEmhbW2CQ

I honestly kinda understood video games like these probably don't have very high story aspirations. But I still wanted to express my relative disappointment
Oh hush you’re not even real. Automaton Netrunners will try anything these days.
bro how did you get banned, stop using cheats and hacks you dumbo

Now I'm very curious how you accomplished that.
I will never understand the attention sluts who insist in using these forums as the review system.

I invite you to ponder a bit further as to why this game is so surprisingly popular given its "mediocrity".

Probably wrong, but me thinks it just fills a market niche that never went away and were able to create a game of nearly AAA quality without the perils of the bureaucracy money brings.

In short. What other game did this?

Also, yes please add the car sooner. They're adding an apc which is a whole 'nother thing.
