The automaton lore is actually kinda cool from what I know, the automatons are the "children" of the cyborgs- And in HD1... We genocided their people and enslaved them basically on its basis because, "why not." So now after awhile the automatons rolled around with the sheer unfiltered hatred of thousands and millions of cyborgs we killed in the first game..

i'm not gunna lie... i'm going to miss the Automotons when we finally wipe them off the face of the map.

They're just flat out fun to kill and get into fights with, i never really got the same rush from the bugs, at least not in the same way.

But, Liberty must be spread, and nonsentients need eradicating. In the end, the galaxy will be more happy for their destruction then i will be sad that i no longer get to fight them. So in the end the total amount of freedom in the galaxy increases. and that's all that matters.
