It sure is nice to burn the bugs though!
Yay, new gear to fix a problem caused by poor balancing of fire damage effects...
Fire damage taken really does need reducing without forcing players all into one type of armor.
Hulk flamer damage is almost justifiable as it would be a massive wash of high pressure flame, however it used reasonably survivable if you were quick to run and stim, whereas now I think it's ~20% chance of surviving if you only get caught by the edge of the flame, instantly dive away and stim (it's salt in the wound the number of times I've died to burning while hearing the stim hiss go off).
What is not justifiable is ground flame damage. While moving through a destroyed bot base I apparently got too close to a pool of flame on the ground, instantly went from full hp to flashing red, I stimmed and survived, Hulk trauma induced reflexes came in handy.
It seems a bit ridiculous for someone in protective clothing (yes not specifically fire proof gear but it has to have some level of base thermal protection based upon the environments we see) to near instantly die from the equivalent of walking through a campfire.
Yep, just happened a few times to me.
