It also gives them more wiggle room to keep adding more strats with even higher lvl reqs without pushing the requirements into the 75+ hour range that some casual players won't even reach before they get bored and move on.
'Hype' is absurd, especially since you cap out on resources and a change like this does nothing but discourage people from spending any resources until max level. You'd also have to refuse to use a wiki, or just be too dumb to know what one is.
Even if you decided to not 'ruin' the hype and look up nothing about the game, you'd still be in maps with people like me that are beyond any conceivable level where anything would possibly be gated at this point. We would be using the very things you'd unlock later.
Since they are constantly adding new warbonds, stratagem, and ship upgrades you'll never 'complete' all the equipment until the day they stop releasing content. You'll just have brief moments where you have everything currently available unlocked.
Don't worry about how other people play games. Don't be an authoritarian or elitist gamer. Find others to play with. Move on with your life. You are only setting yourself up for pain and misery.
thats the thing though - as i new player i love planning ahead and making priorities, thinking up tactics etc, and i do that right out the gate and do so with every game, video game or not.
i look at all the unlockable things with glee and start thinking what to save up for, what to skip, what to use as a stopover, what pros and cons different items offer, and so on.
i have not yet unlocked the 500kg bomb but i do not at all see it as eclipsing what i have available. i think in terms of tactical utility and to that end i see endless potential in the basic eagle strike, since it covers a lot of area and have more uses before needing to rearm.
with the 500kg bomb i think it would be good against some targets, but i also know what some variations in terrain and/or fortifications can do to block it, so i still think the eagle strike is preferable in most scenarios.
and the 500kg bomb is just one thing.
im having a hard time parting with the starting machine gun too since the other candidates lack its versatility imo.
thus, i dont feel like i have an inferior gun when i see what else can be unlocked, rather i think that i will stick to it and plan how to use alternative support weapons in different mission types.
a grenade launcher seems like an idea for a blitz mission for instance., but will leave you more vulnerable if swarmed due to limited ammo.
different tools for different jobs.
and that is all just my playing style, another player may have completely different priorities and plans.
plus, i might get different ideas later after experimenting with loadouts as well, which is a load of fun in itself.
i can go on, but the point is i get huge enjoyment from things like this so i very much prefer it the way it is.
