i love playing medic
i love playing as support roles in team games.

i would love if there was some room for that here. i know theres medic armor but that doesnt quite work for helping your team because usually by the time youve reached an injured ally theyre either dead or already stimmed themselves.

i would love if there was some sort of support weapon that complimented medic armor in someway that allowed you to more proactively heal and protect allies. as well as a medic based backpack to go with it.

maybe this isnt the direction they want the game to go which is fine. all i know is that i personally would have lots of fun with going full medic/support.

In the first game they had a support weapon that was a healing beam to heal teammates. Hopefully we'll get something like it eventually.

Yea i too enjoy playing support. The fact that in the first game you could help people up, drag their downed forms around etc and this game does not kinda makes me wonder if they will add it one day. Although doing even the smallest effort into making our helldivers feel like their lives matter in the slightest seems to drive some players .... fans ..... into a frenzy.

I'm not sure the HP scale is sufficient to make investing actual slots in healing at all viable. People tend to either die or run out of ammo and need resupply by the time they run out of stims, I think.

Maybe if it was a secondary weapon? Those are useful but are relatively expendable.

Or if it wasn't actually healing but some kind of other effect that improved survivability.

If they added a downed state to anything that doesnt outright vaporizes you it could be very useful.

You can support by reloading my weapons, carrying supplies, or giving me volley/suppression fire. Managed Democrazy, fight or die, there is no in-between or other options... unless... you're a coward!

I just let my imagination go wild and thought about how cool it would be to have a healing drone backpack that would heal npc's, SEAF military etc that you're sent to save/reinforce. Being able to drag a fellow helldiver to the upcoming vehicles etc. Wow. Blew my mind ... i guess many players would think it lame but i genuinely would flip out if they actually did this.

Honestly, carrying the supply pack already kinda works, you're just handing out pharmacy refills instead of patching people up. It's not as important when you've got the booster that gives you full supplies on respawn though, which is almost a must-have for every mission.

A syringe sniper rifle using stims would be an awesome addition and pretty skill based as you'd have to hit an ally dead on to heal them.

I'd also love a weapon that would shield someone briefly when shot.

True.

That'd be a pretty big mechanic change, though.

(And they'd probably let rescue be available to any helldiver not needing special kit, but maybe they could fit in kit making it better. Like an armor that makes it faster?)

Dead don't fight, unless you're a grotesque Cyborg commie-zombie!

You make a good point there. Perhaps it might be worthwhile to have a slot on super destroyers that can be filled with a support strategem that can be called in without it having to get selected after you get in your pod.

This ties into another thought i had, namely, the upcoming vehicles (Even the mechs maybe?) who will actually bring them over any of the more immediately useful strategems? Would it not be handy maybe to be able to chose some support strategems that are always available. Basicly, buying and slotting one specificly that you as host can bring to the party. (Just a thought here, might be a bad one, thoughts are always appreciated)

I mean, I think most people would love to be able to have an additional strategem by their own choice, but that would become a strong contender for most important upgrade in the game immediately.

I would min if for 5k req they allow for an extra strategem slot for one mission

We would have something to spend that req on at least
