Underground map?
Since bugs borrow through the ground wouldn't it be cool to have a underground map like hive city. Maybe have missions to eliminate the queen.

It'd be nice to destroy nests underground by entering caves or something.

Maybe as like an objective but the whole map objectively can't be under ground simply because the game has everything droped from orbit to you so 80% of the strats would do literally nothing with the remainder being support weapons technically doing something.

Maybe if it were like an overrun mining operation? Send down support weapons in a cart and eventually call in a hellbomb to destroy the central nest?

I mean there are ways it could work but the game certainly doesn't currently have the infrastructure to support it. The other way is to make bug holes actually go somewhere, then there would be loads of entry points to the surface, maybe plant a hellbomb or some new super hellbomb to punch a hole in the center of a nest cluster to open up a route deeper? Still wouldn't be able to use orbitals and eagles it would be weapons only and as we all know the devs want us using our strats more than our primaries.

Maybe when vehicles finally come out?

To be honest we need some missions on bug planets like those should look different and should have some underground spaces where you cant call stratagems

Yeah for sure, that's what I'm saying, like parts of the map undergroud, specific objectives, sure, but the whole map just can't be...I mean how would we get there lol this ain't DRG we don't have a giant drill rig to climb into and drop from orbit (as much as that would be a neat idea)

Maybe if it had a more robust destruction simulator you could just blow holes in the surface to get strats in, would give value to the barrages lol.

I really want more interesting maps. Everything is just wasteland with the same assets scattered around. Map diversity is huge for replayability. I know every map isn't the same, but every map FEELS the same.

I don't want to wait until we fight on Super Earth. I want to fight within human colonies.
I want to fight within Automaton bases (not just outposts) and sabotage their fabricators from within their cities while their aerial ships scan the streets hunting us down.

I know this isn't realistic right now, but i'd like to see something like this in the future.

Yeah but EDF has functionally infinite ammo and the one class that does rely on call-ins for most of its power can't use but one call in and that magically appears.

It works in EDF because that game series is way ahead of its time and just says "♥♥♥♥ it" to realism. It works because you don't have everyone relying on call-ins to do work. It works because your primary and secondary weapons are actually good lol.

more vertical design would be cool, not just underground but more complex buildings that can be scale

Nope, screw underground maze maps, that was the one part of EDF underground maps I hated, when they required a lot of navigating.

Plus this is Helldivers, we would then have to get back out in order to extract, in EDF the mission just ends. Also it would still have a 40min timer lol no thanks.

Now buildings is something I can get behind... pun intended but also yeah it is really odd there are basically only temporary structures on these planets.
